  1. Thanks guys... Hope to see some of you tomorrow at the Reunion...
  2. WOW! Those colors SCREAM 80's!!! Congrats on the score!!!
  3. Well, the restoration is complete!!! Got the whole thing assembled last weekend and I think it turned out GREAT! Chip at C4 Labs powder-coated the frame the factory "Canary Yellow". He was also able to fix the damaged seat tube! You can check out the complete album at http://public.fotki.com/ptpiranha Just in time to bring it to the Reunion!!!
  4. Can't wait!!! Plans on t-shirts again this year?
  5. Thanks for the tip on the Garmin, but since this is for my son, he only wants to know how fast and how far... I already tried getting the sensor closer (toward the hub bottom, but no dice! My old racing bikes used a ring shaped magnet that snapped on just over the hub... Maybe I need to find one like that... Thanks for the help guys! I'll let you know what I come up with...
  6. I got a wireless computer for my son for his BMX bike, since it had a setting for 20", but the pickup sensor won't work since it's too far from the magnet that attaches to the spokes. Anyone know of a basic wireless computer that will work on a 20" BMX bike? Thanks!
  7. I ended up buying a MacNeil Fat Cap pivotal seat on eBay for $24 shipped!!! I'll let you all know how it works out...
  8. Hmmm... Might have to think about getting some for my son's DB...
  9. Just got my early Christmas gift the other day - a Sunday Model C... While I love the bike, there is more to be desired about seating. I'm a big, old guy (5'10" 220lbs.) and would like to ride sitting down SOME times. I plan on getting the Odyssey Convertible Pivotal Seatpost, to raise me up and set me back a little, but I'm looking for a nice somewhat comfy, smooth seat. The seat that came with it (Odyssey Principal Gary Young), is not bad, but I don't like the fact that it rough rubber and grips you TOO well, so I'm looking for something smooth. Even though it's railed, I'd really like an Aaron Ross Veteran (in Orange to match other parts), but the Kink Solace and Demolition D Fat look like good alternatives... Any suggestions?
  10. Mine is still a WIP... Hopefully it will be all done in time for the 2013 Reunion!!!
  11. Since, even after the CAP soak, my frame is in serious need of some new paint, I thought I'd check to see if anyone has any good personal experiences with a powder coater in the So Cal area? There are several that I've spoken with that look promising, but I'd prefer to use one that comes recommended by members. in advance...
  12. Just a "heads up"... Amazon.com has some of the "Bomber Bikes" on sale for $3-$6 each... I'll post pics when mine arrive!
  13. So thanks to Mongoosedrummer's post, I went ahead and tried the Citric Acid Powder soak... Parts came out GREAT! Looks like the CAP took off a lot of the finish on the Ashtabula parts, but that's OK because I plan to use some special paint that simulates the Zinc Phosphate look. The chainring, still has quite a bit of pitting, so I don't know what I can do about that. I still need to expand the seat tube, so the correct 7/8" seatpost will fit before I can take to get powder coated. Anyone know of a good powder coater in the So Cal area that's familiar with doing BMX bikes?
