  1. This sport is going to have a resurgence soon. People need to know the history of the sport. Between you and Mel we have the best shot at preserving the identities of the pioneers and innovators of the sport. We don't have BMX Action to look to for shots. I don't know about Bmx Plus! . There needs to be video of dialog with older racers talking about races and events too. It is fantastic to see that people remember the people that created this "sport". Now someone please build a downhill track!
  2. This is called quality kids! Oh to see this kind of work today! Gives me hope for the future.
  3. I am all for it! Please keep the flame burning with your talent!
  4. That bike is ready for the track! Great work!
  5. When can we get Eddie's new bike? Who is building them? I want one! Or two!
  6. My best to all here and out in Bmx land. Happy Thanksgiving to the past, present, and future riders, builders, freestylers, and all who love Bmx and its offshoots! Stay RAD!!!!!
  7. Mel rules! I had no idea who he was when we met. Then I see him later on with a BMX Society T-Shirt and still didn't get it. I thought it was an ironic fashion statement. Then we talked. Now I know. This brought me back into a wonderful world when it was getting dark. Thanks to all of the pioneers who made this "sport" happen.
  8. I teach sixth grade. Thank you Steve for the kind words! I am working on having Dan and the team back for next year. This is one of the few times where an assembly actually had an impact on my students. One of my struggling students was listening to Dan when he spoke about the need to be able to read and write well. After he spoke, she turned to look at me as I nodded. She has been working on her skills in these areas. We had a test later that day. You could see the effort on her face during the test. She was giving it her all! This is the only time in 15 years that I have seen any results from an assembly. Usually the students just go back to class and finish their day, but after this assembly you could see that they believed what they'd heard. This show will have a lasting impact on anyone lucky enough to see it!
  9. We had a special surprise at work today! Dan Hubbard, Aj Anaya, and Ricky Moseley put on the best assembly our school has ever had! Dan is a true master of the microphone and Aj and Ricky blasted airs and flairs. The students loved it and so did the teachers! I can't wait to see them again at the reunion.
  10. I raced Azusa and still have my old trophies. There was indeed a jump off of the second berm. That was the pro section. Fuzzy Hall did some photos there for BMXA I believe. The ABA track was just down the road. Thanks for posting this!
  11. I like the fact that Bob Haro is pushing the idea of progress. He is a pioneer and continues to do just that. This bike may not agree with everyone's tastes, but neither did his first designs. It is great to see that he still has ideas in his mind and is still thinking about the sport. I think we can all agree that Mr. Haro has a fertile mind and our sport will benefit from his ideas in the years to come.
  12. Talk to Tony's bike shop in East Los Angeles. I took some parts over to a place in Pico Rivera for them years ago. The guy running the shop was named "Joe". He may have retired by now. He wouldn't remember me anyway, but I did it as a favor to him. He used to ride his road bike to work.
