  1. Heres my 75-76 Webco I restored. Mostly original, 2nd owner, undrilled brake bridge. Professionally painted and color matched from inside the bb. Citric acid bath on the chrome parts cleaned up beautifully. All ash parts were stripped and re coated with the original manganese phosphate finish. http://s1125.photobucket.com/user/Robertlee72/media/Webco%20restore/IMAG0262.jpg.html
  2. Hi I recently bought this rim. I was told it is an 20 inch 36 hole Ambrosio and it looked like it to me as far as my limited knowledge goes. It does not have a Sticker of any kind on it. The rim measures exactly 1 5/16 wide inches measuring the backside. My research has indicated that earlier examples may have been made by C&G, or CMC Super Pros or something like that and then later purchased by Ambrosio. Any info would be greatly appreciated as to what I have here. And if anyone ever comes across a match please keep me in mind.
  3. Nice Work Michael!!! Really cool modification. Nice MX look.
  4. Hi JC. Yea the cranks are 92ish to 96ish but the hubs are both dated 85 so Im fiquring this bike could fall anywhere in the middle or 85ish to the mid 90s. I idk when the range for the speedlines right off hand. Is Pete a member here? If so do you know his screen name? If not, do you know how to get a hold of him? Thanks alot, Rob Ps I looked at the fabwelds at the museum and didnt see anything that resmbled this at all.
  5. Here are some more pics I took today in better light of some of the area you couldnt see in the original pics.
  6. I will get some better pics tomorrow afternoon and get them posted. These are the original CL pics. I have cleaned it up now so Ill get some pics it natural light and up close. Thanks for all the replies. I have spent about 3 hours so far trolling the museum and forums. Someone out there knows. It does have a Mr Motocross decal on the number plate. I believe you had to earn that. Ive found a little info about it on the internet. Actually my wife woke up in the middle of the night and was looking for me. I thought that was pretty cool.
  7. Thanks man, my first lead. If it comes to mind please let me know. I also posted it over there and havent had any luck yet.
  8. Thanks man, I feel the same way about it. I love the American flag theme. Who knows maybe its a custom made frame/Fork. I cleaned all the dust and clay off it today and aside form the scattered paint chips it cleaned up very nice. My wife told me I should paint black, I said "are you a secret communist or something, this thing is bad azz". Tues and Thurs. are practice day at the local track and Ill be honest its been a few years but I cant wait to get back on the track with it.
  9. Just picked this up a coupe of days ago off CL here in FL. I drove 2 hours to get it and I love it. Finally got me a bike that feels good, is light, and looks great imo. Parts list F/F unknown. I think I seen something similar a few years ago but cant remember where. TT is approximately 21 1/2". tioga headset unknown bars but look like GT to me 24" Ukai speedlines with 85 dated SR hubs Profile Cranks 182mm, 6th gen I believe, USA stamp on back Profile sealed BB GT seat and seat post, integrated seat post clamp in the frame Specialized tires, a little bit of dryness but still hold air fine and Ive been riding it around the neighborhood. I bought it from a guy who buys storage auctions. He said he threw away approximately 100 trophys. The number plate has Mr Motocross on it. Any ideas on the frame/fork???? Just FYI it isnt for sale just need hel identifying it. Rob
  10. Sweet build man. I tried to pm you but I think your box is full.
  11. I finally got the Webco painted. Spent 30-45 min matching the color through color samples at Sherwin Williams. Single stage enamel with hardner. I think it turned out beautiful. I will get some better pics in natural lighting soon after it hardens up with good. Its still slightly tacky in the photo.
  12. Ok I took some pics to show the process of replacing the inner races. Thanks Sodbuster and Monster. Take a flat head punch and from the other side tap it out. Dont beat the hell out it. Just give it some gentle persuasion. Grab a socket or something larger than the race. Use the back side of the socket to rest against the race. I put mine on a towel on a hard surface and tapped it in. Move around the socket tapping alittle at a time. When its all the way in you can feel it in the thud. Reassemble Front and back completely rebuilt and cleaned up with a good usable hub left over.
  13. Hi all, Sry brothers didnt see your post till now. Man it went really smooth. I tapped them out earlier today. I went out this evening to the shop just to look at it for a minute and couldnt resist. BTW there was alot of crud and grime behind the race I couldnt see or get to with the old race in. So I cleaned all that up found a socket that was slightly larger than the race, put it on a towel on my bench, got a quick ref of the molded stops in the hub and tapped the socket in the area of the stops in a cirle like fashion. You can tell when you bottom out by the feel and thug of the tap. Wiped the race out real good, greased them, inserted the bearings, put the caps on, inserted the axle, flipped it over and repeated. Put the outer race back on the second side and gave her a spin. Spins very smooth, and shes very clean and NOS inside. Im very happy with the way it went and turned out. As a matter of fact it went so quick I was in a zone and I didnt even think about pics till I was almost done. I still have to put the NOS hub back together with the old guts tom. and will take a bunch of pics of that.
  14. Hey Sod, tapped all four out today using a flat tipped punch. Didnt take much to do it either. Not a single mark on either one. Now I will find a socket or something the right size and press them back in. Im glad I did it because there was some crud up behind the old races that I couldnt get to otherwise. Ill post some pics when I get a chance. Beautiful hub now. Thanks for the tips, Rob
  15. Thanks sod, I bought a nos one that cosmetically was way worse looking than my og one. So I replaced everything in mine except that inner race using the nos parts. The inner races inthe nos hub are perfect and the ones in mine are not. So I kinda hated not replacing them and just wanted some opinions. Thanks again.
