  1. A couple of words from Pats older brother................ I don't have the real os bmx blood and knowledge like you guys do, but I too was there back in the day and worked for a spell at the same Schwinn shop Pat did. Holy smokes.....do these pics bring back some memories! The details on this find are just incredible.......................made me remember stuff about these Schwinns I couldn't fathom I still had in the cobwebs of my brain. I screwed together a few of these babies myself back in the day. I must say it was just too cool for a 15 year old bike nut in '79 - '80 to have something like this clamped into your stand...........taking the time to get everything just right for the future owner, and getting paid for it! The sweet feeling of spinning wheels in the parking lot on a virgin perfectly adjusted high end Schwinn. That was a high that still brings a big smile to this day. While I like to fondly remember this stuff being hammered on and ridden hard, It's just too cool to see a survivor of this caliber. Believe me....... this find was just meant to be. Pat has built, ridden, owned, raced, modified, destroyed, restored, cursed and worshiped every concievable model of Schwinn on the planet. And that's just the Schwinn stuff....... I won't even get into all the other piles of OS BMX stuff that's passed through his hands in 35 years. A nice addiction to have.................... Anyway..................Pats life has had a few big bumps in the road that we could all do without lately. And for just a few minutes all that drama can go away while you ride your score out the front door of a Salvation Army (that's right, he rode this thing out to the car......) and for less than the cost of a family meal at McDonalds. Too cool............... Steve weim55 Colorado
