#545917 OLD SCHOOL BMX 20 inch (1979 and earlier)

Littlejohn Murphy Monoshock

I picked this bike up out of Costa Mesa, CA from the original owner and his brother. It was complete for the most part - no chain, no seatpost clamp. It had newer bars, brand new foam grips and a newer style cushion seat. I replaced the bars, grips and seat with some older parts that I had on hand. I also added the frame and bar pads. Everything else is original to the bike.

Frame: Littlejohn Murphy
Fork: Cook Bros.
Handlebar: 31" wide MX
Rims: Heavy duty "Made in Japan"
Hubs: Bendix coaster; No markings on front hub
Tires: Pirelli
Seatpost clamp: Schwinn
Sprocket: Schwinn
Pedals: Schwinn
Chain: Union

Thanks PandaPro!

Robert, I love the blue 26" CBR...and that G-boy seatclamp is insane.

1974 Murphy & Littlejohn - This frame was found at a swap meet in L.A., then listed for sale online shortly after. It had one bb cup and one headset cup, which I left on the frame. I was told that there was also a rear wheel with it, but I was never able to track it down.

Frame: M&L with original paint & decals. Head tube decal reads "M&L Racing Frame". Down tube has a M&L checkered flag logo followed by the name "SPRINT-4". 14 inch frame pad and Schwinn seat clamp.

Fork: forged MX reinforced fork looks to be Ashtabula, but with a straight-cut drop out.

Stem: Ashtabula

Moto bars: approx. 30.5 inches wide with welded shim and non-pinched crossbar. 12 inch vinyl snap pad and MX waffle grips.

Seat: Taihei quilted, black vinyl with metal tabs

Crank set: Takagi MX crank 160mm, Wald sprocket 40t, KKT rat traps.

Wheels: Motomags with Bendix 70, Traveler Super MX front tire & Cheng Shin rear, both 2.125".

#539700 Pit Bikes - ALL ERAS

Posted by reservoir.grizzly on 21 December 2014 - 11:31 PM

1976 Dan Gurney pit bike - original nickel finish and decals. This F/F was found in a metal scrapyard in 2009. Top tube is approx. 16.5".

MX handlebar: approx 27.5 inches wide with black vinyl Rad Pad, Hunt Wilde grips and vintage motocross plate - probably used as a side plate at some point. It already had a hole at the bottom, so it mounted perfectly with the stem bolt.

Headset: Schwinn

Stem: Shimano MX forged steel

Seat: MX Troxel with 16" struts

Seatclamp: Schwinn

Crank set: Ashtabula 4.5 inch, Three-Arrows sprocket 40t

Wheels: 28 spoke, Araya 16" steel box hoops, Bendix coaster, ACS front hub, Cheng Shin knobbies, both 2.125".
