  1. That's what i was thinking too. Like I said I want to build it with as many of his old parts as I can get my hands on. I guess it'll be a sort of tribute build to one of the guys that got me started in racing back in the day.
  2. Well, I know I'm restarting an old thread but I'm hoping to finally get to picking up the DY in the next couple weeks. I, admittedly, originally had thoughts of getting it and flipping it but I just can't do that with my old racing buddy's bike. I'm going to get as many of his old parts off of him as I can and give it a proper restore. I know he still has the single pinch flights, Arayas with Hutch mag/ti hubs, and the Tuf Neck he had on it back in the day. Any suggestions/ideas on how to do this? I was thinking about just doing a survivor build but I'm wondering how that will look after the headtube repair and rechrome.
  3. I'm also wondering where i put some stuff i bought and never used. I have a NOS Kashimax Mongoose seat some where around here.
  4. Nah, i actually found them in the back of a bike shop i go to every once in awhile. Knew i didn't need them but bought them anyhow. I wonder about myself some times. damn nice find . those are my favorite tires . i pick em up when ever i can find them . i am super jealous . Just as i got rid of most of my stuff i go get more. All i have is new school race stuff now and my dumb ass gets some agressor MX 300s. Yeah, I'll use those.

  6. I was just going thru some stuff in my basement and realized i have a habit of picking up things i know I'll never use. I even picked up a set of NOS Carlisle Agressors AFTER i sold off almost all of my old school stuff. Is there a 12 step program for this? LOL
  7. Wow. Really? I guess I underestimated how collectible they are.
  8. Ok guys, need some opinions, help, and advice here. An old racing buddy of mine is clearing out all of his old stuff and i have a chance to get his '85 JMC DY frame and fork. My question is the the frame has about a half-inch crack in the head tube. I know the head tube will have to be replaced and the bike re-chromed. It also has a couple small dings in the tubes that would have to be filled. My question is how much would i be looking at to get it repaired and re-chromed? I can get the F&F fairly cheap but am unsure what i might be getting into. I don't want to end up putting more into it than it's worth.
  9. hey donnie i will be in columbus oh. in july and could pick it up fo you... Well, there ya go. I work on the west side of Cbus.
  10. Any idea what year and model the Technium is? I also have a complete '85 DB Viper to move. I'm open to any offers on all 3. Not looking to get rich, just want a new road ride. Oh, and I'm in Ohio.
  11. Yeap, 6' even. The shop across the street from me has a 2010 Raleigh Sport that i'm probably going to pick up. I was riding a '86 Raleigh Technium 450 til the frame was damaged.
  12. That's why i put it as "Webco" cause i don't know what else to call it. I am definitely not trying to misrepresent it. I take a 56cm bike.
  13. I just want a nice, entry level road bike. I don't road ride a ton but like to do charity rides and cross train on it. I would love to keep the stuff and restore it but i know i never will and would rather move them on to somebody that will. Which frame and fork were talking about anyhow? The "Webco"?
  14. Ok guys. Looks like i will be letting all of my old stuff go to get a new road bike. Hate to do it but the old one is trashed now. Any idea what i should do about the mystery bike since no one really seems to know what it is/isn't?
