  1. Thanks for all the kind words.. jeez im blown away with the comments. Too answer a few questions: The bike should have the earlier SR db pedals, these are the slighty later mks versions. Yep the bike needs irc compII diamond back tyres. The finish being powder is real tough.. much safer with young kids about. The stem is my favourite part of the bike.. it really is flawless. I do have a front brake setup ready to be chromed, i also have a correct chainring but this turbo lite version looks awesome thanks again Lee
  2. Ok this has dragged on for well over 4years.. To me, the turbo is the ultimate in os BMX. It still needs correct pedals, tyres etc.. but bollocks here's the story. Original f/f came from Mattskybeat, he also gave me the stem, bars and seat clamp. The crossbar was dented so i had it replaced.. a local firm did a superb job I had the Stem, Seat clamp, chainring and dia-compe brake set beautifully re-chromed Then started gathering all the parts needed to complete.. radman helped alot here. Restored the seat myself.. dyed, recovered and decals added. The finish is custom powder lacquer.. matched to a bit of original colour left inside the steerer tube. Then put it all together
  3. Cheers for the comments.. Im no expert in upholstery, it was my first crack. quite simple really, just stretch the suede over "hard", the glue grabs real good. but if the seat needs tweaking you can pull the cloth back and redo.
  4. I sold my nos kashi 5gold suede seat, coz i wanted a crack at making my own. So with the 5gold money banked i bought a rough Kashi MX seat. Bought a suede handbag off ecrotch, carpet fitters glue and Uk guy sawzall for the decals. Stick a seatpost on and clamp in a vice. Take your packaging foam, spray with glue..spray top of seat and press together. Stretch over... and trim Same process with the suede.. Another view. Underseat shot Suede trimmed Decals too finish
  5. I start OS racing next Sunday.. heres my scoot shitting myself already!!
  6. No I still had the original colour around the fork steer tube. The powdercoater I use has a paint supplier who came and mixed/matched the lacquer. Thanks for the kind words.
  7. Got it out the loft for a few daylight pic's. As the finish is powder its tougher than 20 Mr T's. Its a tinted powder lacquer (like pen ink, bluey/purple) colour changes in different light. Added the black camera strap to show the colour.
  8. i know a bit about mongoose, the cali / expert. but i was told they did a black chrome pro class in expert size. i didnt think so either..i was just checking.(now know they didnt) but look at the thick rear triangle on my pics, theres no way thats a chrome cali/expert frame..it even has the old black chrome still on.
  9. so would you say the above is a pro class even with the different brake bridge?
  10. so an expert just has a shorter top & down tube but is still a pro class.. mr dooit is your an expert or pro
  11. Yeah the seller mentioned it being an expert. sorry i dont have it yet for measurements.. whats the difference? and is it still a pro class? Lee
  12. Looks correct but the pro classes ive seen have 3round holes in the brake bridge. This has 2slots either side of the brake hole. Ive also seen a pro class with just a single hole in the bridge. Thanks
