  2. These just popped up on Facebook cool thread!
  3. thanks so much 2blader! appreciate it Here're my new vector pants with my new vector and my dad's old vector bad:
  4. This is all we have left though. Plaque from the NBA national number 1 trophy:
  5. That's how I roll I got that from my dad. I couldn't do it any other way. Yeah I'll work on the A...I'm not too worried about it though, even if I have to cut my own out of some vinyl. The sticker to the right is his Pro-Fit sticker. I'm getting some of those made and I'm sure they'll turn out awesome. what size chain does your suntour for....3/32 or 1/8? If it's 3/32 that would be awesome! I also have a nos NTKK 1.75 tire for the rear like my dad used, I'm just afraid to touch it after how much i paid for it haha! It'll go on for some professional pictures I plan on getting done though. and thanks again to everyone else for the kind words, they mean a lot to me
  6. I'm new here...how do we enter and what are the guidelines?
  7. I just posted on the Pro-Fit stem thread with all the knowledge I have, but I've been meaning to do exactly what you suggested, so no worries at all. I'll talk to my dad and try to get a complete history when I go home for thanksgiving. I love that people are so interested in my dad and Pro-Fit, and I'm having a great time digging up all of this stuff thanks again for all the kind words and support...they mean a lot to me
  8. So from the top of my head, Pro-Fit started in '84, and lasted until my dad stopped racing in '85. He said they only made one run of about 50 of them. They were really expensive to make so they didn't make a lot of money selling them. That being said, they never made it to a second version, or a third version, so the Pro IIIs are not Pro-Fit...perhaps later copies?? I would LOVE to find out what they actually are as it seems to remain a mystery. That's the best I can do for now, but I'll talk to my dad more about it when I go home for turkey day Our pro fit...we think it's the one my dad had on his last vector
  9. The Pro III aren't Pro-Fits. I read that a lot, and I wonder where that started, but unfortunately no one knows what they actually are WOW, really Evan? That's been a long time assumption. Glad I didn't pay alot for mine. I would love to here from your dad about his ideas on the subject. Looks like there is going to be alot of discussion and comparisons about every characteristic of both...because they both look very much alike. Maybe somebody copied PRO FITS after your father stopped. When did your dad stop PRO FIT? Here's a thread on PRO FIT Evan. PRO FIT THREAD Yeah he told me that they only made 50 of them because they were so expensive to make. He stopped when he stopped racing in late '85. I was thinking about it last night and they ONLY explanation I could think of is if his partner kept making pro-fits after my dad left. But I've never even seen a Pro II, so I'm not sure about that. I'm gonna try to talk to my dad and get a full history for everyone
  10. thanks for all the compliments guys, I'm glad I could share it with everyone and I'm glad everyone enjoyed it @ number11 ...yeah I think his sting was his favorite. He rode many a bike, but he'll always be the sting king
