Can anyone tell me what this frame might be no stamps
Astrodamus replied to Stoskopt's topic in Riding, Research & Collecting
First of all, congrats on a beautiful frame w/ nice welds. to add to the Schwinn idea.. I believe you can measure the headtube (where the forks are installed) and I think Schwinn bmx bikes had an extra inch (5” vs 4” or maybe 6” vs 5”?) im no schwinn expert either. whats the story behind it? Sometimes the pedigree or location can give clues too.. where are the forks? -
1980 Redline MX-III ? Or MX-II
Astrodamus replied to Yardsale2's topic in Riding, Research & Collecting
Very nice trade! ps: i thought redline forks were good for telling the dates/eras. Are they capped or?? I trust the rl experts got it right. White w/ red tuffs looks so good -

Are Webco Mags the Best Vintage Mags?
Astrodamus replied to mongoosedrummer's topic in Riding, Research & Collecting
Yeah, I never saw the magnesium webcos in the wild. My experiences were a little later than some.. and a few states to the right of California. By 1982/3 in Texas at least, we didnt see too many metal mags. By this time it was Tuffs, spokes or z-rims. -
