  2. especially after he asked everyone's opinion and he got a resounding "NO, do NOT restore it!" from everyone on the board. anyway, thanks for the kind words guys!
  3. Just wanted to share this GJS Freestyler I built this year. Some of you may have seen it at the show last June but since I no longer own this bike (damn wedding expenses!) I figured I'd share it here instead of entering it into BOTY. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! 1984 GJS Freestyler Salvage project: sanded down frame + repop forks + new powder & decals This bike was purchased as a raw frame with reproduction forks. 5. i love the one with the wraparound top tubes and pointy frame standers!
  6. wow, that's a boatload of GJS info there! you learn something new (or a lot of things) every day. thanks for sharing!
  7. here's an 84 freestyler i acquired this year but haven't built yet. unfortunately the forks are actually repops. however, they look pretty damn good/close if you ask me!
  8. damn, what a shame. ironically it looks like the downtube decal says "PK RIPPED" but it should really read "PK RIPPED OFF"! btw Spur, what's the story on the VDC?
  9. My buddy Vicsta has an SE Trickmaster... or perhaps you saw a Skyway Street Styler? 85 SE Trickmaster (vicsta's) 87 Skyway Street Styler (borrowed photo)
  10. +1 for the three b's: babes, bikes, and beer!

A big thank-you to oldsklharo & relic for your advice and help acquiring some key parts for this build. Also a special thanks to caezar who graciously sold me the A'ME unitrons off of his own build so that I could finish this in time for the June 5th BMXSociety show. Here are some pictures, thanks to Vicsta
  12. All I can say is WOW!!! Having missed last year's reunion due to work, this was the first time I was able to enter a bike into the show. Knowing there was going to be literally hundreds of top-notch bikes on Saturday I really wasn't expecting to win anything with my VDC. In the end, I was truly surprised and humbled with the result. I want to express my thanks to Steve & all of the BMX Society crew for hosting such an amazing event. It's already been said several times in this thread so I won't mince words by trying to describe how thankful I am for all the hard work and how awesome this show ended up being. I'll just say it was better than I could have ever imagined and definitely exceeded the hype from last year. The pictures online tell the story. In addition to the BMX Society crew, I want to thank the pros for being so friendly and generous with the photos/autographs. It was great to learn more BMX history from the guys who lived it and to hear some of the personal stories. The "1987 me" would definitely be jealous of me today! Finally, I do owe a few other people a big thank you -- Steven (Smokin Steve Styler), Mike (Oldsklharo), Mike (Relic), and Jeremy (Caezar). Without you guys, I wouldn't have been able to finish my dream build in time for the show. Thanks again for all of your advice and help! Mark
