  1. Just curious, how the heck does the chainwheel come off? Doesn't look like there's enough room for it to wiggle off the crank arm.
  2. Courtney that doesnt look like a factory stamped serial number.
  3. Ive been looking at all the different stampings and am thinking that any particular stamping was used until the next model or until the current stampings machine/mould/forge needed rebuilding. So a crank may have the same stamping for up to a few years if they didnt change it. So my theory is that T751 would be from 1975 on, T781 would made from 1978 on. T801 would be from 1980 on. Am always looking for more info and data so if theres another stanping that doesnt adhere to these then would love to see.
  4. Aussie Redlines were mainly MXIIs & some Series 3s, some had a serial on the inside dropout, some even had the serial inside the Redline Oval on the bb. some had a Redline Oval stamp on the BB ONLY-no serial.
  5. Heres another way to raise the height that was used back then. I made these out of curiosity. https://i.imgur.com/qTCWWGm.jpg
  6. Posted on Torker facebook page by Steve Audish According to the above invoices the Torker serial codes may need some adjusting. Serial IT bought in mid Dec 1980. Serial TO bought in late May 1979 Also kdubbmx on radbmx wrote:
  7. This pic of KenC's shows the serial code is at least 2 months earlier than stated.
  8. Shutup and show us more of that Schwinn now, thats what ya get for going down to Texas thats what ya get for waking up in Texas.... C'mon man!
  9. Heres an interesting one. From ozbmx, probably a good example of the race mods we tried to do bitd. Id say an early stem (keyhole underneath) sanded, machined, fitted with an 80s Tuf Neck shaft. Its Moto! Anyone else seen anything like this?
  10. The current thinking is that with that serial it is around 1984. US made. Maybe a 102b or 600a / 600b
  11. Ahrrr Im no longer sure what it is now! I cant see the full details of your frame and my knowledge is all from the museum anyway.LOL. Did the museum guy say why its a Comp Scrambler? I ruled out the Comp Scrambler due to the sloping top tube. Other differences will be the top of the seatstays and the chainguard tabs. The serial number will help too. 2nd letter Q = 1979. Id say the Decoster forks are the same apart from stickers. Its interesting the stem has a MX2 sticker. I assumed the US market were all stickered as DX stems. Whatever it is its very cool.
  12. Yes, designed for Pit Bull brakes-which are a roller cam brake. U brakes are a bit different.
  13. Team Schwinn, I think... Im almost liking the paint effect and how the paint on the brazed bits stand out-almost a work of art. Did you get any more history on it? Like when & why he replaced the parts. OA works well on chrome but Ive had no success on paint. OA wont affect the stickers. Theres a good chance they are Schwinn approved forks too. Ill find a link for you. The stem has a date code on the shaft. See the link below (except I believe Y = 1979 Z = 1980) http://www.ozbmx.com.au/index.php?/topic/56384-nitto-parts-date-codes/ This is off Genes BMX schwinn catalog site showing the forks https://www.flickr.com/photos/genesbmx/15791155185/in/set-72157646964059714 https://www.flickr.com/photos/genesbmx/15605340889/in/set-72157646964059714 Team Schwinn https://www.flickr.com/photos/genesbmx/15171725153/in/set-72157646964059714
  14. Looks awesome. Most likely 95/96 model. A GX5 or GX6 serial will mean 1995 or 1996.
  15. I can imagine someone saying 'oh wow, a Clint Miller BMX! Havent seen one of those in ages!' Hope it was a still good day anyway Christian.
