  1. Similar dropouts and comes form the land of the rising sun also. She is a 1976 Suzuki. Besides this one....and few on the web....I only seen 2 others in person. That was in 1976/77 or so at the Auburn Wa. Downhill track....I was only 9 or 10 then. I am sure there were plenty at other tracks across the country. This one has been repaired several times...and a cross bracing welded on behind the crank hanger. I am not sure if she is worth investing alot of money into restoring her or not. Find the matching fork will probably be next to impossible.
  2. I actually started a thread for it over in the restoration section of this forum. Keep me posted if you find any decals. Thanks
  3. I found this frame on craigslist today....the guy bought the frame at a garage sale for the cranks to put on his single speed. Let' see if anyone can call it out quick? He did not know what it was...but figured someone might want it. It took me a second to figure out what it was from the litttle camera pic he had of it. I knew it was unique by the rear drop outs and the front gussets. Clue , she is the wrong color. I am sure some of you OS experts will call it out in less than a second.
  4. First off I just want to say hello and cool site you guys have here. I have been searching for info for a few weeks and decided to contribute to the cuase the ohter day... to allow for more access. I picked up this CYC last week.....it was a rolling rusty paint peeling near basket case.....I wish I had taken pics of it first. It did come with a nice set of Tuff I's and another set of Black Tuff ones that have no I.D. numbers on the castings. They do have date codes on the inside however. This bike was originally painted with a Anodized looking transparent paint. The handle bars were also painted that way. I hated it when the bike company's did that back then....the paint would flake and look like crap in no time at all. My CYC as kid was Chrome....and a earlier versoin than this one. I believe this one is a 78/79. The TANGE forks are bent....bye bye. I ditched the stock stem and cranks...I am going with a double clamp neck and a set of TAKAGI CHROMO 180's. I would like to find a set of Box bars that have a larger splined area for clamping ? The frame was still partailly painted and pretty rusty in some spots.....I took some scotch bright to her thinking I was going to re-chrome her or re-paint her. I decided I am going to go with the raw steel look. I think it may be nickle coated under the paint since it dulled very easy with the scotch brite pad and the rust came off easily ? She looks like a EXILE CYCLE. I have alot of parts on the way for her this week, I am trying to keep her era correct and old school.....if I am screwing up something with my parts decisions let me know. The hack needs to go out for sandblasting and back to my buddies for some weld repairs. I need decals for both the GARRY LITTLEJOHN and the Stormer......if anyone can do repops let me know. If I can find new decals I will then send the frame to have it plated again. But for now ......I am going to make her into a rider for my son and I to have fun on....and maybe take my Bulldog for ride around the neighborhood on occasion. Thanks
  5. Try this site if you have not found it already......I am also starting a Stormer build and was doing some searching wihen I came across your thread. Did anyone ever do a repop of the decals ? Thanks http://cycbmx.wordpress.com/
  6. Very old post I know...but do you want to sell this Foiler frame? I used ot have a Gold foiler in 76/77 when they were new. I just bought a silver one and it needs alot of work. Thanks I would of sent a message to your mailbox but I am not allowed yet since I have not posted anything yet. hey there. welcome to the site. email me at : robertkuhl@aol.com YGM....thanks for the welcome.
  7. I now old post.....but I just picked up a Littlejohn hack today and it needs restoration. Are those the original clamps for the mounting or did you use some motorcycle riser bar clamps? Thanks and that is one sweet ride you got. Now you just need a paper route for it..
  8. I did a search and came up empty on this site for this sidehack...Anybody know much about these ?? I am curious of the year it was made and if I can get decals for it. I tried to post over in the resto section of the forum, but the site will not let me start a new topic. I figured this would be on some of you guys list of things to want or rare parts. It is a original Garry Little John sidehack I picked up today from a friend today. I am thinking 1976 or so but not a expert by any means......just going off of what I can remeber from back in the old days. I plan on restoring it along with a Cycle Pro Foiler frame I bought a couple of weeks ago. I will probably just buy a completed bike for the sidehack however. Maybe a Stormer or early REDLINE to mate it with. Thanks
  9. It's like back to the future for me....wow. Seeing some of those bikes brings a smile to my face and jars some old forgotten memories loose for me. Very cool builds !!!! Love the Suzuki and DG's those where the bikes we all talked about wanting in 77.
