  1. I bought a D.B mountain bike about 2 years ago to ride with my twin daughters during the summer months just for fun. Last year my mother told my girls about my whole crazy love affair with BMX as a youth when I lived in Redondo Beach/Mesa, AZ and later in Reno NV. For some reason my wonderful kids didn't believe any of Grandma's wild stories about their "Old Dad" until showed them a couple of tricks on their pretty little pink and purple two wheeled coaster braked machines Those tricks being of course "the bunny hop", "curb endo", and "riding backward by sitting on the handlebars". After my kids saw their Daddy do something on a bike that they have never seen before the oldest of the two said to me "pls show me how to do that and I wanna race bikes like you used to do too ! . . . So yes as a matter of fact I'm happy to say @ the age of 42 I'm back on a BMX bike after a 17 year hiatus! I traded the Mt. bike in for a brand spanking new 24"GT in the fall of last year & now I commute to work in downtown Chicago traffic, racing buses, dogdging cabs and bunny hopping over city potholes that will swollow a runaway Toyoda with no problem at all 5 days out of the week in 30 degree spring like temps . I'm planning on buying a BMX bikes next month for my oldest daughter to race in Indy as well .
