Prototype 1st JAD F/F made won on Facebook

06 January 2019 - 07:11 PM

Ok so I’m more of a pre 83 and older Bmx guy with that said there is a page over on FB that gives people the opportunity to put up some cool stuff for raffle at x amount a spot for x amounting spots. Any way this frame was put up before new years and the story is it was found in the crawl space of Mike DeMartino the founder of JAD as used at interbike show. Where he had 50lb weights hanging off of race crank, one on the head tube and one on seat post and showed people how much abuse it could take with out snapping on a Machine that beat the bell out of it. I payed for a spot and wound up winning it and man I tell ya I’m kind of geeked after all this is the 1st Jad frame and fork made in 1991 3 years before the company started production on the frames, forks and all the other things they made.i have decided to build it with late 80’s parts the fit the over all condition of the frame set. Top end stuff but beat up 🤕. Any way if you have any ideas on a good parts list to help me out I would appreciate it lol so far I have a old Shimano 600 head set with ceramic races a 89-90 S&M redneck stem, a larger seat post and a shorter bb. A good friend had them Sunday Blues. Brought this to my door

09 December 2018 - 10:43 PM

So a very good friend of mine got in to a bit of trouble two weeks ago and now is in need of some lawyer money (DUI) and has had this bike since new in 79 and I have been after for quite a wile. Well needless to say he called me out of the blue the week and we made a deal over the phone and he had a hard time leaving the house today. Any rate I now own this bad boy 1979 Blue Motomag. He changed a few things over the years but most of all every thing is OG. Are the bars Tuf neck? My Webco in the snow lol

17 November 2018 - 02:19 PM

Some might recal back in April I picked this Webco up at local meet from a guy who had it sitting in a box since his buddy passed (use to be his buddy’s). Believe to hav DG alloy bars on it and the parts range from 75-77 not I didn’t get it for a “score” but it was a fair price. Any way it was in my van the other day so I figured what the hell ? it had snowed the night before and I thought why not? I used some filters from my phone.Attached File  CF7D6859-847B-4936-992E-074CCD63EFDF.jpeg   488.3KB   11 downloadsAttached File  1A5B9185-0927-4835-BF00-45E53299B08D.jpeg   536.96KB   11 downloadsAttached File  E3D9C98A-3967-4A3A-A27B-9163466DC7C5.jpeg   309.83KB   11 downloads[attachment=165923:0D94BAAA-460D-4E57-B173-407F106F53F8.jpeg]Attached File  F6C72E2D-0D23-41F7-ABC6-1F1E1217C140.jpeg   388.81KB   11 downloadsAttached File  3A201169-BDBD-4188-BC2A-6314CB492876.jpeg   234.18KB   11 downloads

1983 VDC Changa long Ohio pick up and one happy MF lol

31 October 2018 - 11:29 AM

So a little over a week ago this bike showed up for sale on the web and I sent the guy a msg about it. Turns out he had to sell it because he needs a car and the bike has sat for 15-20 years in the garage we talked about a price and then I never heard back so I thought it was gone.. fast forward a week and the guy contacted me saying sorry and asked if I was still interested I of course said yes and to smooth the miscommunication a bit he said he would even drive and meet me half way (lives 3 hours from my house middle of Ohio) Any rate we met up and man I am happy ! Now I live in Michigan and have never seen let alone had the opportunity to own one at a reasonable price. She had a bunch of BS parts on it like white coster tuff wheels, unknown freestyle bars and a haro seat and a bit of rust. And after less then 24 hours of owing it I swapped out all the crap on it with parts I had in the attic. Like old MCS bars, black OGK mags, DC hinge clamp, stamped Tuf-neck seat post and 180mm single pinch 401’s I love the way it looks and still need a set of grips, chain and brake setup. And way the last pic is how it looked when I met the guy. 1975 Schwinn Scrambler all OG pick up

23 September 2018 - 04:27 PM

Ok 1st off I did not know schwinn made this model in 1975 however according to the numbers CLxxxxx it is in fact a 1975. And is in all of it original glory down to the tires and crazy orange paint. I am truly stoked that I picked this gem up. And didn’t pay to much for it lol. Any rate any one ideas when swhwinn started with the “MX” movement ? Was 75 the 1st year? What’s really crazy is this past spring/summer I did a 75 Stingray build as an MX.
