  1. That is exactly what I had in mind. Thank you for sharing. What length are those Shimano cranks.
  2. I would imagine the idea of making swiss cheese out of vintage bmx parts may make some of you cringe, but I always love seeing the creative ways racers used to save a few ounces by drilling out cranks, brakes, pedal cages etc. If you have any pictures to share of parts or builds from bitd, I would love to see them.
  3. I would say that was probably the case as most manufactures wanted the new models in the LBS' by Christmas. The only part that doesn't make sense about this is that from what i have read, the loop tail mini was released in 84. There is an article in September of 83 (BMX Action I believe) talking about the "new" Minigoose, and it being made in Taiwan. Someone on museum also said they have a non looptail Minigoose made in 82. Interesting stuff. Must be a transition frame. If anyone does have a looptail mini, and could measure the toptube, that would be really awesome. Thanks for all of your input.
  4. I agree that it looks like an 84 mini, but the serial number doesn't support that. Also, 84 would make it a Taiwan bike. I have put a 20 inch wheel in it, and it does fit. But a 20 inch wheel may fit in a mitygoose as well. Anyone have a looptail minigoose that they can measure the top tube on? Thanks so far for the help.
  5. I have purchased what I believe to be a 1982 Minigoose, but I wanted to confirm. As you can see, the top tube is 16.5 inches, and the frame is US made in October of 82. I am slightly confused because everything I have seen so far shows that a looptail Minigoose is made in Taiwan, and did not come out until 1983. I started thinking that the frame was maybe a Mitygoose, but it does look a little big. What do you guys think?
  6. Luckily I had an older brother by 5 years. I of course wanted to do everything him and his friends were doing.
  7. When I built the bike, my front one was toast. I went ahead and had it rebuilt. It is so awesome now, I feel like I have to do the back.
