  1. I will try to. Can you post a pic ....
  2. I have a set on my 80 quad. They're black and the rear hub is threaded on both sides for gearing changes. They are laced to Araya 7x rims.
  3. Geez and your wife thinks you a problem????? Holy crap man do you have some stuff! Nice work
  4. This place is great. My cousin and I were/are avid riders. Finding this site takes me back to those really awesome times when all that mattered was your bike and riding it as much as you could. Thanks guys.
  5. I had the quad equipped with an older mongoose fork for quite a while before I got the Landing Gear. We would always barrow or trade amongst friends until one of us earned enough $$ for some new parts. I would guess it was about 81 when I finally got the LG. I was happy as a clam until it bent. I was pissed as hell when the second one bent. At that time I probably weighed 135-140 and we rode dirt all the time. We didn't have half pipes or pools to ride.
  6. They bent right where they make the bend down from the steering tube. One of them even had the plate fall off where its cut on a bias at the bottom. The dealer replaced one with another Landing Gear and the next was replaced with a Kuwahara. I didn't think we did anything that radical when the bent. They were very thin walled tubes. I could see that when the plate fell off. I debated quite a while about putting the tapered leg Redline fork on it but the steering tube would have needed to be cut down and threaded so I went with the Kuwa.
  7. I did not get it with the forks. They were not available at that time. I know it's chromoly because when I stripped it down for paint on the tubes it said 4130 chromoly or chromo. I will see it again soon when I strip it again. I want to have it powder coated because I thinks more durable. Any thoughts?
  8. I wish I could. I have had it since new. It was originally black but it's red now. I want to have it powder coated black or sprayed black. It was my pay for painting the family house as a kid. I know I got it in 79 or 80. The frame is as tough as nails. I wish I could say the same for the 2 landing gear forks I bent on it back in the day. It has a Kuwahara fork, also about an 80, on it right now. My son wants to ride it but I need to replace a few things to make it right. Thanks
  9. I tried the search function but I can't find what I saw the other day on here. I have a loop tail quad frame with serial #1591. I want to say it's a 1979. Am I correct? Thanks in advance.
  10. Wow, I just found this site. It's like I've entered a time warp. Nice Ripper! I've got to pull down my looptail quad from the rafters and get it going again. My kid wants to ride it. My parents bought the frame for me in 79 or 80. It was originally black. It's red now but will be off to the powder coater sometime soon.
