  1. Okay, I always come back even after years away and find great GJS stuff. I will get pics up the next few days. I still have my original 1980-81 GJS on display in my house (very cool wife). I also have a same era orange powder coat frame I acquired. I have and will post pics rom the first day I built it up in 9th grade. See you soon.
  2. Try this again. Here is my GJS as I raced it BITD except the Blue Comp IIIs and Blue Oakley 3s. My parents just found my Haro plate complete with the Kuwahara Grand National sticker on it. Here I am taking it out of my son's new gate a few weeks back.
  3. I got back out last year after a 20 year retirement. My son started and within three weeks, I cleaned up the GJS and went out to practice before the races. The TO saw the bike and had me carry the flag in the parade lap. Then I got a cruiser and starting doing sprints. Bad idea, speed came back one night miraculously after weeks of sprints, but the skill was not ready and SNAP. Four places in my right arm. Now I am back on a 20 and feel WAY more comfortable. I never raced cruiser BITD. I wait all week for Thursday practice and Sunday races. I can't wait until summer when I can stay out there all three hours since the kid won't have school. This has been one great year since re-discovering the sport I love. Have fun and practice those skills. I for one am going to Woodward this summer to learn how to really jump again on the resin ramps, then move to their dirt jumps. I have a full week there with my son, we cannot wait!
  4. Thanks Plux. The Redline may go bye bye soon. I need to get my son a freestyle before we go to Woodward in August and I don't think I can pull off another bike in the garage (there are seven total!). His Haro Mini race bike is fine here in these skateparks, but I don't think it will survive a week at camp. I have my motomags from my old Webco coming to me that my parents found, and hopefully soon the back side of that rack I got about 13 years ago here in Vegas will be sporting a Replica with Motomags like I had in 1979. The GJS is original as raced in the Kuwahara Grand Nationals 1981 with the exception of the rotted blue Comp IIIs and the rotted blue Oakley 3s. It survived in my parents attic and I hauled it out two years ago. If you haven't seen the story on the other site, I rode it for my first 'out of retirement ride' in twenty plus years last May at our local track and ended up carrying the flag in the parade lap. Now I found out two weeks ago, they still had my Motomags and my Haro bolt plate, complete with the Kuwie grands sticker on the back of it. Needless to say, the goods will be here soon!
  5. My Staats 20 that I got "for Christmas". I LOVE this bike! My Redline cruiser that claimed my right arm last summer (my riidng skill had nothing to do with it) along with the GJS. I am about to replace the ShotGun II I broke this summer with a Blue Viscount since I cannot find a Shot Gun II for a reasonable price.
