Is this a stupid question? Is it junk? Do I need to post pics?
-
I just became the owner of my very first DK stem. It is very well used but I would like to salvage it. The post is bent. It is bent from side to side not front to back. The bend is gradual, from top to bottom it is off maybe 3-4 mm. Is there a way to straighten it? I've heard taking post out of stem is a bad idea. Any tips or ideas are welcome. Thanks!

Quick Noob Haro Master Question
P32ranger replied to bmx bandit's topic in Riding, Research & Collecting
In my mind, Haro Master and Dennis McCoy go together. Every time I think of a Haro Master I think of Dennis McCoy. -
Is Torker still making BMX/freestyle bikes? I checked their website and it doesn't look like they are. There is a store not too far from me that has quite a few in stock. Are they just left overs?
-
Thanks guys. I have a Haro Sport frame that was less than loved. I had one back in the day and would like to fix it up. I am not going to be able to do a full restore, I just want it to look decent again. I'll post some pics soon, because it is in such sorry shape. The chrome area was sprayed green so it looks like a very bad ano job, and the frame was partially painted with a brush!

Thanks for the speedy reply. The paint stripper won't harm the chrome?
-
Two part question here: a. Any tips on an easy way to remove spray paint from a chromed part of a bike? b. If the later Sports were full chrome under paint, is there a way to remove all the paint and have a decent looking chrome frame?

The 2010 Old School BMX Reunion & Show

I was just kidding about moving it east, I know it would be heresy to even ask. Just jealous of you west coasters and especially of those who made the trek out there. -

Any chance of moving it to the east coast? -
Yeah, that's where I got the quote for $65.
-
I can get FST decals for $65. They are reproductions. Is that the going rate, could I get them cheaper or is that the deal? I tried ebay but havent found any. Just curious, I want to get my project worked out but am on an extremely limited budget.

I've seen it and I like it. I am sure a lot of the old school guys would not like it because it is not true OS. I think the seat is absolutely horrible though. my 2/100 of a dollar.
-
Is that as heavy as it looks?
-
Hey Eric, welcome. I don't know if you are hiding from anybody, but I am curious where you are in NEPA. I am not far from Wilkes-Barre. Looks like you have a good choice to choose from for what you are looking to do. I am not a freestyler, I sucked bitd and am sure I would suck now, but I am looking at getting back into riding this summer. Seems to me that starting with the, as you described, 'free riding' and building on that would be a good starting point. Kids around here aren't the best freestylers but manuals sure do look like the shit. Just get on it have fun and see what happens. I am sure there are some guys here who can point you in the right direction.

That is just like my first bike bitd. I got it secondhand as a gift from my frugal parents. Hated it, and got picked on, but now I like it. Good for you on the score, good luck with it.
