  1. What's up?! Yeah... Tite681 is cool like that. Always was, always will be. He's just one of those buds who you don't see for a long time and when you get together to hang out, it's like it was just yesterday. Yeah I was kinda bummed to hear it was sold but not because Tite sold but because it was a dumb move on my part to get rid of it. I can honestly say I thought about that bike at least once a year after I sold it. Just me holding on to a part of my youth kind of thing. And no man, I'm not trying to give you a guilt trip because you sounded more bummed than I was when you told me. I knew you were the right person to sell all my BMX stuff to because you were the only one that appreciated that stuff at a time when no one gave a second thought about BMX. Funny thing too is that before I even thought about getting a hold of Tite to see if I could buy my old RL20II back, I was contemplating on getting a new school PK Ripper or Quad because they were bikes on my "to buy" list back in the day. That and everything else new out there just doesn't have any style, at least not like the RL20II (I always loved Redline's clean twin top tube design. The Haro Masters, Kuwaharas, Torkers and Ozones just look too alike) So yeah... I was kind of shocked when Tite called me up and offered up his new school Quad a few days after I talked to him about buying my old bike back. I can still remember that bike though. Black with chrome forks and chrome rear chain stays. The forks had the bolt in pegs in the lower position, not the higher position the earlier RL20II's had. I bought that frame and fork from Balboa Cyclery. It was kind of a franken-bike with all the parts I always wanted thrown on. It had the black/chrome Haro kneesaver bars, Odyssey Gyro, Nippon front brake with the recessed back bolt, Odyssey Pitbull rear brake that I mounted on the lower chain stays, the DK mini freestyle stem that Tite mentioned, GT Power Series cranks that I carried over from the Dyno Team bike that also went to Tite (I already had the Power Series cranks and couldn't afford to put Redline Flites on there), I believe I had the Haro Fluted straight post on there too? (correct me if I'm wrong Tite) and I can't recall if I had the Ukai 48's or GT Super Lace 36's (had both, just can't recall which I had on the RL20II when I sold all my stuff to Tite. It wasn't Redline/era correct by alot of people's standards... but it was my bike. Regardless, I'm not even considering trying to buy back the bike from who ever ended up with it considering the rape prices everyone is selling the old school 80's BMX stuff for. I only found out with in the past couple weeks how much the old school BMX stuff is going for. Holy Crap. I'm really not too interested in paying 2/3/4 times more than what I first paid to build up that bike just to have a physical piece of my past. I'd rather just enjoy my memories of it for free while I cruise around on the Quad Tite kicked down to me. Which BTW man... I gotta kick you down something for it, so just let me know.
