  1. I can remember like yesterday, a few of us here were riding late at the Pipeline one night and Hal Needam showed up in a Ferrari. He and his partner watched as a few riders( Eddie, Brian and I believe Mike) rode the pipe bowl. His plan, create a start gate that had a drop nearly as steep as the pipebowl for a movie called RAD. Somewhere, I believe that I have a copy of the movie that was mailed to Brian for review. It does not have sound it just has a bunch of riding clips with editing numbers. I am sure half of it never made it to the final movie. If I can find it, I will give it to Xavier for posting.
  2. The bike -vs- skateboard problems will be a never ending battle. When the Pipelie first started allowing bicycles in the park, there were some pretty bent skaters that would accidently drop their boards in a bowl while you were in the middle of a run. Eventually, it was understood that it was the bicycles that prolonged the life of the Pipeline. Towards the end of its time, I believe that the bikers and skaters pretty much respected one another realizing that we were all there for the same reason. The majority of todays parks are self policed. If things get too out of hand, the day of city owned parks will come to an end too!
  3. Just type in dave volker in the youtube search. I believe my video comes up first - soul bowl 2008 then I have a couple other short videos from the day. Just basic short clips from my digital camera in video mode so dont expect anything too spectacular.
  4. I took the first photo. I also have some footage of Volker, Brian and Wilkerson on youtube from the same day.
  5. Here's some Volker, Blyther and Mendez Video from the Soul Bowl. Not sure how to attach other than the link?
