  1. Good for you. It's good, clean, fun. It don't even have to be expensive, really. Though a lot of folks would say your bike is mid (not old) school. That don't matter, either. Fun is fun. Wheels is wheels. And as Smokin' Endo demonstrated above, there are a lot of great people in the community willing to help out. Welcome! Thanks for the encouragement. I actually noticed that MId-School forum shortly after I posted in this one. I got started taking things apart yesterday. I found the brakes to be the most intimidating so far, only because I am thinking about having to put them together again. Next, I am going to be removing the bottom bracket and crank but I am not sure if need special tools. I went to my LBS and picked up a chain breaker but they said they'd have to see the bike to let me know if I needed anything special for the bottom bracket. Wheels seem a little scary too. The fun kind of scary though!
  2. Thanks for the tip. I'll head over to ebay now. Then, to home depot for the wood bleach!
  3. Hi, I am new here. I just scored this bike for free from my brother in-law and I am looking to familiarize myself with working on bikes by tearing it down and rebuilding it. Some people on another site told me it might be a Havoc. Can anyone help me with more info? Thanks.
