  1. Ooooh - I love blue and chrome GTs - especially the early race bikes. Really nice! Still have my og Nora Cup frame set - this makes me want to dig it up!
  2. Thanks guys! Matt, here is where the build will begin if I end up doing it. Always loved the classic look of chrome Trick Stars, and this one is nice and clean sooo...
  3. Hey all, Just wondering where the 'proper' placement is for a Nora Cup decal on a Trickstar? Any images most appreciated!
  4. Great to see some Brackens action. I actually built a NOS set up quite sometime ago. I'll get some pics this weekend and post it - dialed ride and stiff, for sure.
  5. Good point, donvader - Mother's Polish is a miracle worker. I'd urge anybody who thinks a frame needs a refinish to pick-up a can of Mother's first and give it a gentle once-over. Or twice over, even. Holy cow that stuff really does the job - and keeps the "shine" quality of an og finish, too...doesn't dull.
  6. I'll admit that when I got back into BMX and this hobby, I loved the "New Bike Look" - but NOS was easy enough to come by, so that's what I chased. In fact, NOS frames were commonplace enough that any survivor set I owned, I ended up selling for pennys-on-the-dollar (don't ask). Why have something "used" when I can have a "new" one, was my opinion. I just liked the look of a new '80s bike... And then I refinished my original white RL20, and my entire perspective changed. I hated it. It wasn't mine anymore - in fact, it wasn't anybody's. It was perfect, but perfectly soulless. I felt terrible. It was a wild moment, but in that instant - unwrapping an immaculately refinished bike - I became a Survivor Convert. And to give credit where credit is due, Paul (bronxstyler) also helped show me the beauty of survivor bikes - not just aesthetically, but historically. There are so many bikes already refinished, it's a shame to strip and paint over an og survivor. I'd prefer it if folks exercised a little patience and tried to find a bike that was worn to bits, or already painted over if they feel inclined to paint/powder a frame.
  7. Wow - thanks guys! Now I'm even more interested in Pattersons than before....it sounds like a very tight-knit club of enthusiasts. I always loved the low-slungness of the frames. And Richie Anderson's attitude (lol). And truth be told over the years I couldn't make up my mind what a Patterson looked better with - Graphites or rims...
  8. I wish I could help on this front but I know zip about Pattersons - but I always loved 'em. If you don't mind, I thought this would def. be the place to ask the following: What exactly are the bike model designations (ie. PR200, PR240, etc.) about and how many were there? Any info appreciated. Thx!
  9. Thanks Dirty - did the search and did find somebody who is refurbishing his old portable ramp (which looks a lot like what I'd be interested in building) but nothing on somebody who actually make 'em...Hm. The search continues! Any help appreciated.
  10. Hey guys, Anybody know where I can score a portable (ie. transportable) quarter pipe? Preferably 8' (6' is okay but anything taller than 8' would be potentially deadly)... Or where I can have one made (a steel frame would be nice)? Any info appreciated.
  11. Incredible memorabilia! Please post more info about the auction when it hits the air. Major props to the Source and Mike B. for coming up with the goods....man, awesome.
  12. An absolutely fantastic time - great weather, great bikes but most importantly great people! A MAJOR Thank You to Brian, Joann & Co. - I can't imagine how much prep must go into making this day so much fun. And the fact that the entire event comes off so easily / effortlessly must mean that a tremendous amount of work goes into it.... Seriously - thanks BP for creating what is arguably the hobby's nicest event (that I've been to, anyhow)! Susie and I are looking forward to Philly!
  13. I think that lookdown a few posts above isn't Todd Anderson - I remember that shot, but not the rider's name! Awesome air pics, though...speaking of which: this was blatantly ripped off from Bob Haro's new sight, but it's amazing:
