  1. Wow....crickets.....? I guess you and I are the "new" guys around here. Ha
  2. I would like to "revive" this thread if it's not too much to ask. Ha! I'm fascinated with this Weinmann / DC connection but I'm also curious to find out more about Weinmann rims....I have several sets and they seem to be really nice quality rims. Anyone else find it odd that Wnm/DC would have been so agreeable to work together based on each of their popularity niches? And to have it happen seemingly so fast? I don't think that would ever happen today that fast?
  3. Rini wasn't the easiest to deal with (at least that was my experience) but she was GREAT to deal with. She hooked me up a few times too! About 7 or 8 years ago she helped me get some VERY rare grips, oddly, she bought them from.......wait for it.......Earl Hufman. Now they've both passed. RIP!
  4. Matt! Good to see you too. I've been riding A LOT this year getting my cardio. A few years ago I began running competitively (I've always been a recreational runner) and the cross-training on the bike is a nice change of muscle use. I'll keep the Philly ride in mind, not sure if I'll be home then or not. I was thinking of going up north (towards Canada) for some R&R around that time. I'm going to make a concerted effort to stick around for some time in here this time around.
  5. It's hard work keeping up with all of you on all the forums. I don't know how some of you do it, I see you everywhere.
  6. I like, appreciate, and enjoy art. I just don't know anything about it. I mean, hey I could identify an MC Escher drawing but somehow I don't think that qualifies as a discerning art critic. Sorry, I was casting dispersions with the art student / emo link but I've loved to draw my entire life. I do it now, with the aid of a computer, for my business. My college was a very artsy college (Kutztown University of PA) that was HUGE in "communication design" so I had a lot of friends from school who were in the art program. Some were emo, but most were not. I'll keep learning.
  7. collecting again.

  8. Wooh, that's pretty cool. I like. Man, the stuff I learn on this forums - "readymade" is something that I could describe but I had no idea there was a term for it. I also just attributed it as someone being lazy. Then again, I have NO IDEA about art. My neighbor in the college dorms was named Art however, he was kinda "emo" which I always thought was kinda of coincidental.
  9. Steve, Jason, Tom, Matt - Thanks for the "re-greeting". It's good to be back. Jason - are you going to Rockford this year....wait, that's a dumb question? I remember the year I met you, you had about 7 or 8 past Rockford passes around your neck! That was the best year at Rockford for me (it was my first). Tom, Tom, Tom - how are you my friend? You're my early morning thread-starter guy. I could always count on you posting early when I'm up, and that's saying something since you're in MI! I hope you're doing well. Matt - wow, that Freestyler is INCREDIBLE. LOVE IT (but then again, you know my penchant for such things). Dude, that turn-down is bad ass! Hope to hook up with you sometime soon to ride. Would LOVE it! PS - I can't believe I only have 21 posts! What a NEWB!
  10. Is "readymade" an actual art term for re-purposing common items as "art"? Reminds me of a quote from Bono (of U2) from many years ago...he said, "If you don't know what it is, it's art". Chevron Envy - a guy who knows very little about art.
  11. Thank man, yeah I did hear about that get together I couldn't make that one however. This place is hoppin' and that's a good thing! Anyway, I DID find it and it's good to see you guys still at it. I hope to contribute more often. Whether that's a value to this site or not is to be determined I guess. LOL.
  12. OK, so I haven't been on here in FOREVER. I've been so busy with life (and it's complications) that I just have been MIA from most forums for that matter. However, I've decided to get back involved after some very recent "re-introductions" with some friends from these boards (and others for that matter - you know who you are). I can't get over how so many of you are on all of these boards. After many unsuccesful attempts at getting ahold of some of my old friends on the other boards (they seems so dead) I thought, well, time to hit up os-bmx.com - TO MY SUPRISE, that URL doesn't exist anymore. Man, I have no clue anymore. Anyway, good to see some old friends on here chromey, keep it warm, 26incher, Brian P, OS Bob O, so many others. So, what is NEW???? PS - I want to ride some park / half pipe with someone. I end up just doing kick turns but hey, you have to start somewhere right. When's the next group ride to a local park (in the northeast). Mike
