  1. Thanks, man. It certainly takes some of the pain away....now off the Germany she goes.
  2. Shame on me for selling is right. It sure breaks my heart (cue violins), not for menetary reasons - but sentimental memories of the good ol' days with my pop. Rather than letting it sit around and deteriorate, I'd rather pass it on to someone who will hopefully do it justice. I just don't have the time or energy to keep up with the hobby. You guys are hardcore...I'm very impressed with your passion and knowledge!!! 84profile, yours is a stunning example! Did they come in black or is that your personal touch? Also, are those handlebars original? They look to be in fantastic shape....bravo.
  3. That was a very nice history lesson, area211!
  4. Mr Coasterbrake....you are the man!!!
  5. I have this frame set up for auction an have been contacted by 2 people informing me these could possibly be Robinson forks. I already had 1 bid withdraw, which really sucks. Can anyone "definitively" state that these are truly Profile forks? Thanks.
  6. Early 80's Profile Champ Pro with 1st generation forks.
  7. Thanks for your interest, Chris. I'm still on the fence about getting rid of her, but feel free to shoot me a PM. Out of respect to the supporting members who pay membership to list items, I don't want this turning into a selling thread. ...and thanks for the "pro" confirmation.
  8. Ditto to scottyt, but I think it's Geometric Stencil.... http://www.faces.co.uk/fonts/Elsner-Flake/...egular-EF16011/
  9. Sweet ride, Jon! Very artistic with all the fall foliage It certainly inspires me to get mine up and running again, though I'm actually thinking about listing her soon. I don't really have the time and energy right now to properly spend on it, and rather than letting it sit around and deteriorate, it may be better to let her go to an equally appreciative home. We'll see. This forum has sort of rekindled the old BMX flame. One quick confirmation for my fellow Profilers.....a 19 1/4" top tube (center to center) would make it a Champ, not a Champ Pro, correct? A fellow forum member pointed this out for me, but I always thought it was a Pro (at least that's what I ordered from my bike shop). I've seen some listed on ebay as Champs, but with 17 1/2" top tubes.
  10. Thanks for the lead.....I just got 'em from jrbicycles.com - $5.99. I should've done a quick google search in the first place - duh! I agree, flush mounts look slicker, but I'm going old school. We're the originals chrome or bare? For some reason I thought they were chromed...hmm.
  11. Just found this article on the Profile site explaining the generations.... http://www.profileracing.com/news_full.php?id=594
  12. Yep...3rd generation is it. Thanks for the pic. Like an idiot I lost my original spindle bolts (chromed hex shaped heads). The bolts on your cranks are of a more recent design. If anyone has a pair they're willing to part with - or see some anywhere - give me a shout out. I already shot Profile an email to see if they may have a similar replacement and am waiting for a reply. Just as a side note: Jkraig, contacted me when I originally posted and hooked me up with some bolts like the ones pictured above - he's top shelf!
  13. Thanks for the compliments, guys. The reason I held on to it for so long - besides the great memories - was so that I can pass it on to my son. I'm actually a little disappointed I wasn't able to keep it all intact. Anyway, I have a 3 1/2 year old girl now....I better start working on that boy!
  14. Close enough, z-man. Chrome Ukais with stainless spokes and silver nipples. The chrome was so bad on the rims, I just cut out the hubs (chrome Suzue sealed) and tossed them. I also had a blue uniseat when I raced - light as hell, but always thought they looked funny! Right now I'm trying to find my Profile racing jersey, Haro pants (blue/yellow) and Echo open face helmet w/Haro face guard. It's in the attic somewhere.
