well is this bmx only? if so i only have 20-some...but i have tonnage of mountain bikes, roadbikes...both current and collector. oh and I also have a 1943 24" UNION girls bike...flat tires though. I also have 7 bmx bikes(6 old/mid-one new), a old cannondale jekyl, and a vintage 70's trek roadbike all not finished yet that I need to get cracking on. but then I have a few of other various bikes (like 10 or so) that aren't mine as well that need to be done up. basically my basement is a nightmare. my recording studio is worthless now from bicycle overflow. I have to frequently move bikes to get to my drums...which you can't see too well now. this is just bad and expensive OCD...i need to stop. sorry- lol.

around where i'm at in the northeast, every spring i either find old bikes at the curb, rummage sale, or on local CL. this year hasn't been so lucky so far. I'm not searching to hard either cuz wifey has been curtailing my bmx collecting activities so why bother lol. All's good with me though because I just got a 990 XL Challenger frame after wanting one for many years.

I'll havta take a pic of mine and show. I have a set of 20" "7x style" with eyelets with the stickers still but they just say "SUN Rims" on one sticker, then another sticker that says only "Made In U.S.A", and lastly they have a "Dans Comp" sticker as well lol. Dan's sticker probably because they were built by Dan's BITD. They have a super tough grey hard ano finish that the brake pads don't affect much. I'm wondering if they are actually ceramic coated or something? Anyways they appear to be early 90's and have chrome plated DK LF sealed hubs with the older locknut hardware and 2nd gen DK stickers. I'll post up a pic soon.

Is this thing that obscure? No one here knows anything about this thing? amazing..

Yea they are the cranks that came stock on the late 90's Huffy Enigma racer complete and maybe one of their high-end trick box bikes too. I remember they came on the Enigma right before they replaced it with the Primus model. If/when ya ever develop any wiggle in the arms with them still buttoned down good it sucks cuz no pinch bolt...time to cut up a wd-40 can with a set of tin snips to make a shim lol.

Some friends of mine found this and had me clean it up and get the euro BB out of it for them. We have never heard of this thing before and we were all active in BMX during the 80's. It's either an Expert or Jr. size. No real serial other than 319 stamped under on the BB shell. The fork is stamped Tange 9E and looks like a common old cheaper tange fork you have seen a lot but doesn't have the brake-hole drilling. idk if the fork was sold together with the frame or what.

about time i finished this. been a while since i have done anything. it's a '96 DirtBike. got this frame from a friend a while back. He used to race/trails/street on it back in the late 90's. I had to have some chain rub and chainstay/dropout grind scuffs on the frame TIG'd-in. then i grinded/sanded the spots down and had it powdered yellow. just cosmetic stuff. i even made sure the chain and freewheel were era correct. arent I a good boy... sorry the pix came out fuzzy cuz its cold out and i forgot about that effect on the lens. i just ran out & in with bike and cam without fartin' around much...damn nippy out there right now.

I told him to be careful and don't break it...i don't think it's heat treated. he had the ACE bars on it too but he took them off and put them away. I can't get him to part with it at any cost. he said his uncle got it from chip-n-dales in Jersey BITD. it's a 1" headtube...he had the LBS rig it up with a profile 1" mini threadless stem...it has a plain jane aheadset 1" mini bmx threadless headset with the proper 1" mini/roadbike-to-1" old school bmx shim/reducers in it. and he even somehow got some 1" threadless forks that are not real skimpy...it's all converted really well actually...i rode it, it's not gonna hurt anything...smooth, safe, and snug. he doesnt even jump off curbs with it thank God. i even offered him choice of any of my 32 bikes in trade for it...he's serious about keeping it as a family heirloom. good kid!

Pant leg "keeper-out-of-the-sprocket" doo-dahh? Cable tie? Number plate? Who knows what this thing is made for?

and some oldschgool 80's brands jumping on the retro-oldschool bandwagon and cashing in too. i guess nows the time to invest in buying an old discontinued popular 80's bmx brand and bringing it back lol. not that's it's a bad thing, but worth mentioning...i would probably do it if i had the $$,hehe. but anyways, now we have Hutch pedals slightly improved and brought back at Danscomp for $190...jeeesh

G-ryd's Holmes really captures me. so intresting in fact the few minor details straying from total era correctness doesnt really matter to me. still all mid-school. those late 90's cranks do a great job of reminding us with style of the 1st gen prince alberts! shitfit's menstrual cycle is amazing! that 1" threadless kink stem is something!

haha,right. i bet the Ti tubes would be easy to attain from military sources of stock tubing. having someone weld or machine the dropouts (?) might be the only problem. o wait...the drops are just pressed-on over the tubes (stanchions)and made of aluminum?
