How would I determine if the crank is compatible with the sprocket and how do I determine the size I need for the bike? Thanks

Do you know of any reputable places online where some of these parts can be obtained? I real novice when it comes to this. I have asked around at various bike shops & didn't receive much help. Thanks for the information

I was given a this Norco DirtMaster, which I believe is from the mid 70's. My brother tried to fix it up but messed it up some. The brackets that hold the handle bars to the frame were broken ( b/c they were made of white metal) and they were re-made. But these ones don't fit properly. The pedals also broke and the whole pedal/chain apparatus was replaced (not with original/norco parts). I really want to restore this bike, but do not know where to find parts for it.
