  1. Thanks for the article, I am building a "10 footer" myself right now because I dont have the time/patience/money for one of those million-dollar rides. I want to ride my bike anyway, so no sense in putting thousands of dollars into it. I want to build some nicer bikes as well, maybe after I finish my residency and start making serious money I'll buy one of those $2000 PK looptails I see on ebay every once in a while. By the way, I got a message on myspace from SE Racing that their decals are now available for sale on os-bmx's website but I dont see them in the store...do you know where I can find them? Thanks!
  2. I ended up selling the blue/white/yellow decals when I found and bought some grey/silver "drippy" decals. I think I am going to powdercoat it white with those silver decals...probably not an original color scheme but I will probably never find the correct decals and, if I do, I can always buy and use those. I will post pics of my bike when done...I am building it to ride and am not SUPERconcerned with being 100% era correct since I dont have the money, or the patience to buy that stuff. Besides, I guess technically I am too young to be old-school...I grew up riding my looptail well after 1985...I think I bought it in 1987 so, even back then when I built it it had more mid-school parts than old-school ones. The bike I am building now I am building like the one I had back in '87 with an inverted DK stem, boss bars, pitbull brakes, etc...
  3. The original post said "this fall" '08...so you mean a year from this fall right?? I am getting one of those bad boys!
  4. Damn, so that's why its so hard to find NOS PK Ripper decals for, um, PK Rippers...
  5. Yep, it looks exactly like Smokin_Endo's...
  6. Hey bro! Are you still going to get a quote on chroming the forks (trade) for me?
  7. Thanks guys! I thought maybe that was the case but wasnt sure...Does anyone have a similar-year model they can show me pictures of so I can see what the decals should look like? Does anyone here have any to sell?? Let me know, thanks!
  8. Hi, I am building an '85 PK (straight chainstay/non-looptail) and after looking for decals for a while on ebay finally purchased a complete set of decals...they weren't my first choice of color, but darn if these things arent hard to come by. Anyway, they are yellow-white-blue....so, what color should I paint/powdercoat by frame?? Actually, first of all, would these be a correct color decal set for my frame? I was thinking of white, but now with this color decals I am thinking of either just polishing the frame or powdercoating it baby blue, both with chrome forks. Again, since most of you are better informed than I am, would either of these be a correct choice of colors for my 1985 PK?? If not, does anyone want to trade decals (assuming someone out there has a set)?? Also, before I even go wild with this frame, the one I had back in the day was a looptail, so, if anyone would want to trade for my frame let me know because I kind of would like to build up one like I used to have as a kid. Thanks! Jason
  9. Hi, my brother dug up his old GT from our parents' garage after I told him I was building up a PK Ripper like I had 20 years ago. Anyway, his GT is unstamped, with the serial number 42224, so it must be pretty old since I was looking up info on here and most had at least 2 if not 3 more digits or more. Can anyone help me with this?? I'll try to post pics but it looks like many of the early 80's GT frames on here.
  10. Can anybody help me out?? What bottom bracket types will fit in an 85 PK Ripper?? Specificallly, will newer style bottom brackets, or even somewhat old-school "sealed" bottom brackets fit. Back in the day when I had an '81 PK I didnt have a sealed BB, and, thinking about the style of the BB with the bearing cups, I dont know what will and will not fit. Any suggestions?? Thanks!
