  1. The crank arms are 100% CW. It appears that the previous owner removed the crimped ALUMINUM hub that was prone to getting loose under severe abuse. He was an engineer and most likely made his own spider out of steel. Since the steel was heavier, he added as many lightening holes as he could. The weld is very nice and the new hub was re-chromed carefully as not to re-chrome the crank arm. It is well done but unfortunately not 100% original as sold to the public. I was hoping these were a one off factory beefed up set that were ridden by a well known rider that could give me a positive I.D. Hey I can dream right?
  2. Pedal Thread is 1/2" not 9/16". Hub/Spider/Disk is welded on. This appears to be factory as it was chromed after welding. Came off a 1981 / 1982 24" CW TFL that was garaged for 28 Years. They measure exactly 7" from center to center 177-180mm. They have square taper BB. Unlike anything I have ever personally seen. Any help would be much appreciated.
  3. Where is it? I don't see it on ebay??

  4. Was wondering the same thing after seeing his new apparel line up. Just a little FYI: Once Trademark and Copyrights expire there is a short wait time. Then if the original owner chooses not to pay to renew the rights they lose them and it is fair game for anyone else to buy them. Same as a Domain Name etc.
  5. Thought I would post a before and after of the beast. I have Red Z-Rims, a Red Tuf-Neck, and NOS Red Maxi Cross waiting to be installed on this beast. Still need a seatpost for my NOS Red Troxel seat and Some CW Pro bars, wink wink nudge nudge....
  6. I see the difference now! The top left corner of the "D" bends downward. I am 40 years old and I have owned, seen and ridden many DG frames but never actually noticed the different letters stamped into the frame. OK here is the 10K question: Does anyone know the EXACT month and year that they started stamping the gussets with this different font? Was it exacty when DG sold the BMX division to Green Duck? Does anyone know the exact date of the sale? Does anyone have contact info for former DG Employees? I would like to speak with persons formerly working in the manufacturing facility, not riders. Former welders and painters or inside sales associates would most likely have information relating to the serial number arrangement on these "Second Generation" frames. I would also like more info on Ed Smith and "Green Duck". PLEASE PM ME IF YOU HAVE ANY 411. Thank You, Bunny Hop 1984
  7. Can you show me the difference between the "small stamp gussett" and the "big stamp gussett" ? Thanx, Bunny Hop 1984 here's what the small logo looks like. That is exactly like mine.
  8. I stripped the original candy blue paint off and what you see is some remaining factory primer. The frame and forks are going to the Chrome Plater today Bunny Hop 1984
  9. Can you show me the difference between the "small stamp gussett" and the "big stamp gussett" ? Thanx, Bunny Hop 1984
  10. Bump... Can anyone help me with the serial number ?
  11. So I have figured out that it is most definately a Racer-2. Now I need to know the year so I can start gathering the correct parts for it. The serial number is above and as it says the numbers are not in a sequence. They are spaced very far apart so it reads a single "2" then a single "3" then a single "9" then "19" Can anyone out there help me determine the exact date of manufacture on this frame? Thank You Bunny Hop 1984
  12. SERIAL NUMBER: 2........3........9........19 Any ideas? The numbers are spaced far apart just like above. Let me know Bunny Hop 1984
  13. Thanks for the 411. It looks like I have a Racer-2, possibly a Racer-3 but it is very light so I'm sure it's cro-mo meaning Racer-2. I need to strip it and find the Serial number to date the beast. Where is the serial number usually located? I noticed there were no stems or necks in any of the DG Catalogs, WTF?
