  1. ramo, is that robbie standing next to you in that picture on the moto-bike? if so would that be one of richie lee's frames next to him? mabey even his? bill mack know it all dick with a good right hook
  2. can't figure out why he didn't have cook bars on that bike, it would have had them origionally.mabey he ruined them with the front wheel incident. then again mabey not.have to ask him the story when i get home
  3. how did you get mike to part with that bike? i figured he would never part with it since he has had it since the late 70's and it being the 10th 26" production frame (there were 2 no number frames made before production began, i have the first one and kevin cobb had the other. he told me he sold it to a neighbor at standard and edinger and it was stolen from there in the 70's.it was black imron painted. one time about 15 or 20 years ago mike told me the front wheel fell off that bike in front of his house, when he fell he broke his jaw and sheared a bunch of teeth off at the gum level in his right side jaw. he got fucked up.that bike is a killer of teeth so watch out.when i get home i will ask mike about when he got that bike, he told me his mom kept everything, they even had the plastic packs with the manual that used to come with old schwinn stingrays so she probably had the reciept.that would clear some stuff up as i have seen in print crusers originally done in 77 and i say no way.78 and mabey 79.there was a magazine test photo shoot i went to not long after they were originally made only i can't remember what mag or the photographer's name but 78 or 79 for sure. that is the only bike i ever got for anyone so i don't know of anymore hidden jems
  4. are you going to be at the June 7th show ? I'm not sure yet on my agenda
  5. ah shady' you got my friend mike's bike. he is definetly the original owner. that bike would be the number 10 production cruser. not made with the curved top tube two bar design but definetly made in the same fixture.i got that bike for mike and helped him assemble the loose pieces.gary cook got him all the parts. last summer when i saw that bike for the first time in 25 years i didn't even remember making straight top tube 26" bikes. they ring no bell with me so there may be few maby even only one. mike didn't remember if he asked me to make the frame special or not and i only remember the prototype that i still have billy mack
  6. i'm not even sure it is a kook's frame, if it is it is earlier than 77, 76 or earlier.notice no hole in the rectangular tube behind the bottom bracket? look at the brake bridge it has a straight tube instead of a bent one. never seen one that way so if it is cooks it is early and the high serial number contradicts what i see. from what i know about nothing

  11. -------------- Original message -------------- From: William McIntyre sirs, I saw your site and saw a lot of wrong or unanswered questions. i tried to answer one and it said i had to pay 25 dollars. do you give membership to vintage pros? i am bill mcintyre and i was there as well as working and riding for cook bros from 77 to 80. i was responsible for mutch of the change and development at that time. if i have to pay i know i won't contribute anything. you know i just got used to not paying for anything around bicycles and motorcycles thank you bill mcintyre here it is i am pretty mutch the first one to say i suffer from assholism so i ain't hiding anything (and ain't ain't a word) what question is unanswered?
  12. check this out, I was shown these sites by steve renteria, father of factory DG, LRV, and robinsen racer gary renteria. the only person who i have continually been friends with and in contact with since the seventies.i saw stuff posted at vintage about cook bros and it was questions or was wrong. i raced for them and worked there from mid 77 to early 1980. I am a fabricator and developed and built almost all of the changes made there during this time.ask the cooks they will tell you.they even eventually named the bars after me but by then i was only interested in racing motorcycles but still worked there for a while more.back to the story.i inquired into vintage about answering questions and some FUCKING DICK who never put his name on the e-mail (hamarjr@comcast.net) sent me this response "Well, excuse me if I forget to bow on bended knee. All members pay the security deposit. It keep folks honest and the forums pretty clean and trouble free. If you are looking for a freebie because you are a once were, Its not going to happen." He can get off his one knee now i pulled my zipper up and does anyone wonder why i don't want to go there? all i was trying to do was spend my time to answer some questions on his site. guess they don't care about accuracy. don't let truth or the facts get in the way of a good bullshit story fuck you hamarjr Bill McIntyre aka billy mack sorry steve the nameless pussy bothered me
