  1. Thanks guys, So what would be a more suitable pad option for this rim type please? Cheers rotorist
  2. Just making a few changes to a recently acquired SE Floval Flyer and am wondering if I am going to damage my NOS Araya rims, by using Shimano XT V brake pads from a mountain bike (which are in good nick and have been cleaned)? All fitted and adjusted up awaiting a blast tomorrow.....would hate to damage the rims unnecessarily. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers rotorist
  3. Hi Recently re-established myself with BMX by way of picking up a second hand GT Pro Series 24 from thebay and am loving it apart from the weight! Now that I know I like the feel and style of this type of BMX I'm interested in seeing what is available at the other end of the market, can anyone please help point me in the right direction? Cheers rotorist.
  4. Looking at running wheels with 10MM spindels on my GT Pro Series 24 (2004 or 2005 model), is there any way of using spacers to resolve this situation? This bike is to be ridden so looking for a safe/secure option. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers rotorist.
  5. Any ideas what this is? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...A:IT&ih=017 Cheers rotorist
  6. FREESTYLE FREEK - Been riding MTB's for about the last 20 years and am in need of additional 2 wheeled inspiration as my riding hours are dwindling.....possibly down to our rubbish Winter! Just looking at riding local trails, not looking to get too airbourne but a little (I seem to stay closer to the ground these days on the MTB than when I started!) and maybe some flatland action. Was never as keen on "freestyle" type bikes though as they felt quite long and heavy (I think!?). Haven't put on too much weight, currently just under 13 Stone (82kg or 180lb) and I am 5ft10" Any ideas as to what might work for me....am I along the right lines with a Mongoose, Supergoose? Cheers for all help so far.
  7. ah, should have guessed that! JMC....no did'nt see any back then and still have'nt, maybe will with my renewed interest. Cheers
  8. All sounding promising! BridgeCityBikes - Just out of interest how did you know I am in the UK (or did you not)?
  9. Had DP Firebirds back then (Freestyler and Delta II), but not so sure what to go for this time, think I'll just keep an eye out for something in good condition, maybe along the lines of a Mongoose, Supergoose, Redline etc...with a pair of Araya 7X's.
  10. Looking at building up a bike similar to what I was riding in the early 80's (some NOS and some used) and am just wondering how most of these BMX's have faired over the years. I am looking to ride it so am hoping that it will hold up okay, anything to look out for in general....anything to avoid? Cheers rotorist.
  11. as above.....what was the diference between a mongoose and a supergoose please?
  12. Yesterday I rode a BMX for the first time in many years, a Haro Fusion. It struck me as being very heavy, this could be because I now ride relatively light mountain bikes or that the Haro is just very heavy. My comparisons of weight were various DP Racing Firebirds from the early 80's with Araya 7X wheels. Any thoughts to help ease my confusion would be appreciated? Cheers rotorist. I know I am heavier than half my life ago ;)
