I got myself a black cherry one off ebay a while back... very nice bikes! Here's a link to an article about them I found when I bought mine. http://www.bmxbasics.org/new/bmx0201.html -

Looks like I'm gonna miss this one...too bad i'm just gettin some free time again after gettin married and gettin through another bout of doctors appts for my oldest girl. :off topic: She was diagnosed earlier this year with Neurofibromatosis Type 2... brain and spinal cord tumors that form along the nerves....but I'll save more about that for its own topic... so that's consumed me for the past few months. Good to be back around though! I've seen this park when I was at Caruthers for a softball game... kids were enjoyin life there! -
what a difference a side shot made! anyone familiar with Elf s/n's?

funny, but I saw the pic before I saw what you wrote, and my first reaction was Elf mini.

I always started left foot up until right before I stopped racing. I had just started trying to start with the right foot up every once in a while. I hit jumps with left foot forward too. I also pushed my boards with my left foot, had right foot on front of board. And I am right handed and kick with my right foot predominantly. Just gotta do whats comfortable!

friggin awesome that you are doing that in the house...haha

I was going through some old paperwork I had and found some info on my old Patterson. So now I'm wondering about its fate since I sold it back in '90. Anybody on these forums have a Patterson PR-200S with serial number 2840349? I raced it in near perfect condition back in '90. It even had an immaculate white Patterson padset with it. Oh well...you know what they say about hindsight! While I'm at it, anyone have my old Kastan cruiser? Kastan Kex Pro Cruiser (had Uni-blade fork) serial number 000785.

I just heard back from Jim Melton. It's a 79 long JMC standard, originally white, sold to Bicycle Warehouse on 6/6/79. He said the forks were indeed the Andy Patterson models, but cannot tell from pics if they are bent. He did say the paint looked stressed and that they are rare forks. I would have to say personally that they do look bent to me. Just amazing that he would have all that info, and take the time to help us appreciate his bikes and where they came from! Thank you, Jim!

This is what makes this stuff so cool! You never know what you are gonna find in your own stash from bitd!

Thanks for all the info! As soon as I can get money together, I will start looking for the right parts. Am I misunderstanding you or are you saying that someone might actually be willing to buy the bent forks? By early Suginos, what year would you mean? I don't remember them being an older item when I got them in the mid to late 80's but my memory does seem a bit fuzzy.
