  1. I also posted about this frame at www.bmxmuseum.com and a moderator called Hellmutt has the same bike or one very similar. The frame is a Sekai, most likaly a Challenger model. Have a look at it (he swears he takes better pics normally lol)
  2. Thanks to everyone. i see what you mean about it looking like a Cycle Pro, but i still cant find a pic of one with a gusset like that. Most of them have fish gill shaped holes cut in them not a circle. Anyway these Cycle Pro's seem pretty hard to find lol. Who knows there might still be original stickers under the Mongoose ones (which look kind of fake now.)
  3. I bought a bike from a car boot sale a few years ago with Mongoose Californian stickers on it, according to http://www.vintagemongoose.com/ its not even a Mongoose. The serial number is F80J8345, it has TANGE forks and cranks stamped T165. Any ideas what it is?
  4. I emailed www.vintagemongoose.com and they said it's not a Mongoose of any era. So what is it?? the stickers were on there when i got it.
  5. Hey just some pics of the bike they are for. Btw this is a Mongoose Californian right? i haven't seen one with the head tube gusset.
  6. Sounds like a good idea if the spokes are ok, kinda hard to tell from photo. I don't remember mentioning the tires were blue? Blue Comp III Tires
  7. thanks for your reply. I found some new Comp III copies for AU $25 buy it now and 15.00 post. I'm guessing they would fit?? If i get the wheels ill see if the spokes need replacing and hubs rebuilding as stated in the auction and go from there. oh and btw these are for a 1984 Mongoose Californian i got in average condition with the stickers still ok from a car boot sale for $20. The wheels are probably going to be worth more! lol
  8. I found these PRO CLASS rims with SR hubs on eBay and they seem to be reasonably priced at AU $25 + under $30 postage. But how much are they worth in the condition they're in, and how much will it cost to get them in good condition if the spokes and bearings do need replacing as well as rim stripes, tubes and tires? Click here!
  9. It's been a while but now i'm actually going to find all the parts for this bike. After a bit of looking around i found some Pro Class rims with SR hubs on ebay (AU), now are these the right rims and hubs and are they worth $25 + under $30 postage??? Click here!
  10. My friend has a bike that looks like a Schwinn Stingray, but how can I tell it really is one? Sorry no pic.
  11. Hey, u might want to practise on a bike wheel from some cheap garage sale (if u havent already). http://www.ehow.com/how_14174_build-bike-wheel.html
