JUST heard about this today from the cats at 5 & a dime(super cool people btw). I'm in SD this week and going to try and make it out before my flight leaves. Hope to meet some of you west coasters! -
Were there any serial number put on these frames? Any ID marks?

This may clear up that mystery frame I have. Except mine has powerlite/early patterson dropouts.

Your FIRST build in the hobby

I cant much credit for it as most of it was together when I got it. I put some extra touches on it to make it my own. -
I've seen that bike at the local track a few times. We talked about it (local old school riders) and are pretty sure its a 90's model. The guy you got the frame from bought or traded it from a local flipper named Julio. This guy then put a bunch of stuff on it that he had. Dont get me wrong its a nice build. Ive seen it up close, it a nice bike. To be honesty I dont htink he was very sure either.

sonlite bearing removal/hardware question..
gptrash replied to gptrash's topic in Riding, Research & Collecting
I got to messing with them tonight and man they spin like butter. I don't know if the bearings were just super dirt or what but the lube on them made them spin like crazy. Anyhow, the collars are unthreading now so at least I know they aren't stuck. Thanks for the help fellas!!! -
sonlite bearing removal/hardware question..
gptrash replied to gptrash's topic in Riding, Research & Collecting
Thanks guys. I started soaking them in some mouse milk (aircraft grade penitraiting oil) last night and will let them sit til I get home today. Hopefully they will budge. Yeah I dont want to kill the hardware, but the hubs are already a little beat. I think Im going to keep this set for the VDC. -
Anyone have an clues as to how Im suppose to get the hardware off these Sonlite axles? This is my third pair of and I still have no ideal how to get these off? Do they thread on/off? This set has trashed bearings so I want to replace them, but don't want to trash the hubs or axles.

Im interested in the new school aluminum's (Dont judge me BMX2112 )but I would like to see some info on the frame geomtry.

Is this Standard bikes or Solid bikes? I got a frame for my son from a guy that was having his frames welded up by Solid and it is a great frame. The only problem Ive run into is that my son runs a 50t chainring so I have run into issues with frame clearence. We got it worked out, but is chainline is REAL off.

training for this!

I have a pair of those and cant do half of that! Maybe that why they were on sale...

I got these from a friend of my mother in laws. Her Step son used to race and these were just lying around. I think that one is a sting with brazed headtube, but the rest is tig'd...strange. The other, Im not sure about. Anybody have an idea?
