  1. dust covers pushed in too far? ogk gt mags had that issue where the bearings would rattle alot if the, mainly front, dust shields were pushed in too deep. just a thought... could even be the threads of the axle somehow rubbing inside the hub too.
  2. well normal cables have 2 ends, one end is a barrel, like in normal brake levers. the other end is a mushroom, which is for road bike levers, and in your case the bottom part of the rotor... that is why it was always easy to get a cable for the rotors... just cut one in half (which was only a few dollars at Kmart) and there should be enough for the top cable to the rotor and the rotor to brake length. unlike the gyro.. lately theres a "ball" end like on gyro split cables, and that will work as good as a mushroom head
  3. that looks like a 90s DK race frame, they were at first made by kastan, later went taiwan i think...
  4. eh, the redoing, or repro stuff just wont stop... eh, i think im more annoyed by seeing tons and tons of redone, anodized (when they didnt come in any color other than polished) low end GT mid 90s stems.
  5. thats good i guess, now im just hoping they reproduce up to the 95 stickersets...
  6. hmm, nice. id leave the frame fork and bars the way they are... eh, yeah i see the stem looks bent. seems that stem bent easy. one i have now i had to replace the shaft.
  7. im not even fat, and im too scared to have my post that high, even with todays 1" post. the post were bending easily at the high height when i weighed maybe 100 lbs... and that was on the strongest i could find, the gt posts... probably due to casing, falling on the seat alot.. bumpy rodes, whatever. there are some out there with the "I" beam inside, maybe get one of those or something, but still if over 180lbs.. i dont care if its 7/8" solid rod, its going to bend hitting a bump especially if you sit down alot.
  8. if it has 4 grooves with 2 close together on each side, its a peregrine crank spindle
  9. it sucks to a degree. i have no doubt they'll keep popping up on ebay though. now if pacific actually gets all the sticker set years made up to 96, then well this may be a good thing, but i doubt it's going to happen just because the Haro company didnt stop him from selling them don't mean they won't in the future... lawyers
  10. yeah that fork with the challenger decal, looks like it has the pitchfork dropouts, but the steerer dont have a brake hole, and likely the steerer is thin, not 1/8" thick
  11. i think 98 98 they started specials, they had the aluminum cnc'd cap and bolt, but still not having a machined steered first. soon after, probably the same year they came with the one-piece machined steerer. im going by the fact i bought ditchfork specials (having the aluminum cap and 2pc steerer) in the same year i bought pitchfork specials (having the aluminum cap and cnc'd steerer). both even had 990mts the stickers too would tell, the first specials had little devil girls all over the stickers (little black ones) with pitch fork in a ribbon going up and down on the blade. before it was a orange "pitchfork" running up and down sideways with a red fork below the letters (which is the first 1 1/8" version). in 2000 they went to bland black or white letters saying "pitchfork"
  12. i really like this tnt, so i added a few touches
  13. thinking 94 only hard evidence of a stove-pipe cruiser existing that i could find in bmx plus issues was in the "cruiser buyers guide" in the January 96 issue, on page 62... as far as pictures looking through the dans comp ads.. it wasnt listed in the majority of the 95 issues, but is listed in the september 94 issue.
  14. i sorta regret not going, but i hate rain, and didnt want it to be like the one steve jain party i went to a few years back
