  1. Raining here in Sonoma County all day so I looked back at some pages, we had some fun back then.
  2. He has raced 4 or 5 times and just got his first lesson in some "dirty riding". First heat he easily passed the leader half way through the race. Main event, that same rider tried to run him off starting straight, continually looked over his shoulder to block his passes ultimately killing his momentum in a final turn. I instructed him since if that were to happen again . Funny, he REALLY wants to race that kid again....he said something about "payback time"...
  3. Really sorry, meant to say Napa Valley (wine geek).
  4. Heading to the "REAL" Valley tomorow morning for some 8 year old novice action!
  5. I had no idea his actual birthdate was 2 days away from mine. Knew Rob from latter 70's. Rob took over Peddlepower Cyclery in Orange mid 80's. Stopped in to visit him a couple times and I bought my first mountainbike from him around '86 or so. First bike I had to actually pay for in many years! Did my first Mammoth Mountain Kamikazee race on it too. RIP buddy.
  6. Bonzai at Saddleback was not a flat landing unless you really miscalculated....
  7. My 8 year old did his first BMX race in Napa today and I was amused when an "adult racer" came back in after a practice lap with a small rock in his hand in shock he found it in one of the turns! Wow are knobbies dead? Carson won 8 year old novice BTW.
  8. Armen sent me this link earlier. <iframe width="500" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Z4RkyQFxoYc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  9. Next time you see him please pass along my email. It's "b" then my last name at aol.
  10. Since it's my picture can I play? That is Stu behind Rob Fehd. Oh, possibly late '74 maybe early '75. Had a broken navicular so I found myself taking lots of pictures.
  11. Bad lighting? Nothing was worse than Palms Park. At the back side it was pitch dark. I believe there was a street lamp on start/finish straight and a lamp on one side of building we went around.
  12. Just curious if you ever weighed that with the Motomags? Gotta be heavy. Don't know if I ever told this story before. Marshall Wheeler via Steve Rink asked me to race a Stroker for a month and after a month the bike was mine to do whatever with. So after 2 weeks, I gave the bike back. I suppose in hindsight I should of raced it for a couple more weeks and put it in my attic!
