  1. It is 1 of the first 4 originals. Mine was white. Woody could do and still does some amazing work. TimL probably has his original. I think I gave my first one back to Woody. It might be my old one repainted. All 4 were made in June of 1983. I watched Woody cut, weld and then get the frames painted. We assembled them when the paint was dry and headed to Fremont, CA for an ABA National. That my friend is a very rare find. Good stuff.
  2. Great Stuff Steve, sorry I dropped the ball! I think you know what I mean? Trust me, Greg was way full of himself BITD! LOL! Joe Baumert
  3. Yo Steve, I saw the post on Brian Pascal on Vintage and last I knew he ws racing Mountain Bikes along with Matt Sullivan and doing well. Both those guys have raced in the cruiser class and did well. Tim L raced them awhile ago (maybe 2 years) and hung out with them. Do you remember Brian's older brother's name? It is bugging me. I think maybe Steve? Also, congrats Cash on the HOF! Joe Baumert
  4. It looks like TimL, Direct Link and Staats have come to an agreement and things have been worked out. That is a good thing. Joe Baumert
  5. The frame was a friend of mine in '79 or '80. He was much smaller than me. Joe Baumert
  6. How's the GT mini Kristevin? Any plans for it? You got a rare piece, at least the serial number might say so. Joe Baumert
  7. Good stuff Rick! I hope to meet you one day, I hope things are well and thanks again for the favor with OM. Joe Baumert
  8. I do not want to incriminate any of the SE heros here - LOL! Scot, Pk, Rod, Buba, Lonnie, Todd and all were great guys to hang with BITD. I need to preserve their reps if you know what I mean. I can mention Stu-story teller though and Tarp! And no not Stuart Thomsen. A different Stu. Joe Baumert
  9. My man Todd Huffman is in that ad and in the BMXA picture as well. All the SE guys were so cool BITD. Grubbs and I often stayed with them (On the floor no less) when we were on the road. They always welcomed us in. I have a few stories that can not be told here that might interest a few here - LOL. Joe Baumert
  10. Steve, thanks for the reply and welcome. I check in here almost daily and certainly love this place as I do VBMX. Both are great places with great people! I just talked to Tim and he is trying to get things straightened out. In them mean time, I ask everyone to hold off their comments or calls to Staats expresing your dislike over this (I am guilty of this). That will not help or solve anything. I hope it gets worked out. Tim is a great contributer to BMX and as is Staats. I would hate to see my good friend get screwed by this. Lets hope good minds prevail. again thank you for the welcome and let's see where this goes. Joe Baumert
  11. Thanks Jon and your bike is killer! Joe Baumert
  12. Good stuff guys. It is very cool to see our brothers in Germany taking the torch and running with it. Those are great pictures. Joe Baumert
  13. This is a public service announcement. See Direct Link's web ( www.directlinkbmx.com ) page for the details. Those wonderful guys at Staats are "trying" to sell Direct link frames as P.O.S.frames. An exact copy. Stay clear of them if you believe in all that is good in BMX. TimL is one of the good guys in BMX and he is getting screwed at the moment. Thanks for listening. Joe Baumert
  14. Yo Brian, No problem. It is in great shape. Joe Baumert
