  1. There I listed it as a auction. Is that a better starting price?
  2. Joe, if any one of them sells even close to that I will squat next to you and shit a chalky red brick with you.
  3. Seriously? They are all for sale or they would not be listed. Read closer before commenting. They are all "buy it now or best offer". Your best offer can be anything. duh. Basically I am excepting offers, don't you know how Ebay works? I am not expecting anybody to hit buy it now.
  4. Well I can say that you are the first person that has said that you actually saw one at one point in time. Which supports Warren at Vintagemongoose's explanation that they did exist. You are correct about the "Mostly original" as well, I deleted that and broke down most of the parts individually already anyway. You would not have a old pic of a little Blue Max by chance would ya?
  5. Anybody have any old magazines or company catalogs from BMXPRODUCTS in 1984? If somebody has a advertisement of a Goose or Blue Max 16" it would surely be helpful here..
  6. I have it up there not to find out a value- it is for sale. Do I think I will get $8500 for it? LOL. I never thought I would, I put it high rather than delete the listing until I figured this bike out 100% which I think I have. Plus "Ya never know" if it is in fact the real deal, it is the ONLY one I have ever seen. I have researched this bike further due to so many ebay messages stating this is just a 1984 Mitygoose and not a Blue Max. I posted in here and emailed Warren at vintagemongoose.com explaining this bike with a link to the ebay page. I will now share more in depth what I have learned. Starting with "I need glasses", the serial # is M4 - I0198 not a 1 following the dash as I thought originally (which made no sense). Now the serial number makes perfect sense and I will break it all down for you. "M" is for where it was built (Merida/Taiwan) and the 4 is the year 1984. After the dash is a "I" indicating the month made which is September of 1984. The following 0198 is the production number. Now, how do you PROVE it is a Blue Max and not just a Mitygoose with Blue Max decals on it? What I have recently learned is that in 1984 all the "Blue Max" 16" that were sold, were actually just a 16" Mongoose "Mitygoose" with "Blue Max" decals on them, since "BMX PRODUCTS" stopped producing ones with the Iron Cross gusset. So I asked "Is this then a true Blue Max if the decals are in fact original?" The answer I got was "could be or could not be". So my next question was how can you 100% tell the difference between the two other than by decals? The answer I got was "You can't". So there you have it. I am honest and have tried to figure out this bike to the best of my knowledge. I thought I would share what I have learned and look forward to your comments. BE HONEST - you will not offend me.
  7. Hello, This is my problem I need help with please. I have a 1984 Blue Max pit bike and have been told mixed views on it. Some agree it is the real deal and others say it is a 1984 mitygoose that was re-decaled long ago. The serial numbers make no sense according to anything I have found. The SN# is M4-10198 ok, now the M is for Merida/Taiwan, the 4 is for the year 1984, after the dash should be a letter for the month built not a number like mine has? I am honest and do not want to mislead anybody so any info would be appreciated. My question is how do you tell the difference between the Blue max 16” and the 16" Mitygoose? Was there ever a Blue Max 16”?? Because mine is the ONLY one I have ever seen?? Here is a link with all the pictures and info- it is priced insane high to keep anybody from buying it until I figure this out 100%. I thought I had it figured out already, but too many PM’s have given me second doubts enough to ask in here where all the true experts are. Thank you and here is the link- http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=281143926125
  8. That was the most awesome show ever!!!!!! Thanks everybody who helped and participated!!!!
  9. Here is one for you all, the "Blue Max" pit bike. All original not cut and welded together. Original chrome and decals, I had to replace the rims(original hubs though), pedals, mini Proneck, chain, tires, and seat. I salvaged what I could and the hubs were coated in rust, like the bars, frame, and fork. One of the coolest bikes in my collection. (Thanks to Dewabo) But my favorite pit will always be the CBR above that placed "Best of Show" at the M.O.T.O.S. bike show at the Grands last year. That bike was the most awesome in the room by far!
  10. "As far as this seller, Patrick. Hes a good dude." Thanks Brian- you are alright However I think that this guy Pat is kinda a jerk. LOL. I have had, and parted with a lot of good old gems over the last few years. That RA-9 was awesome and I wanted to build it, but needed the cash at the time- Stupid Uncle Sam. Put it up for ten grand just for kicks and to do some fishing to entertain offers- sorry Brian. I ended up selling it for $1200 believe it or not, and that one I really did not want to let go. I really wanted to build it. Just like this Foiler frame I have on the Bay right now. Love it, and wanted to build it, but NEED closer pictures to see what parts were on it first. I asked Scot awhile back, and we had some "not so kind words" over this frame. He has known I have had it for years and never cared, said he was happy to see it in a good collection. Then one day he said some things to me that really upset me, and I have not talked to him ever since. One minute He is your best friend and the next minute.... well anybody that knows Scot, knows what I am saying. He was a childhood hero of mine, and now it is sad and unfortunate to see him in the paths he has chosen over the years. Do I expect this Cycle Pro frame to sell? Nope, that is why I started the price at where it is at right now. Nobody will bid. But it did EXACTLY what I wanted it too do, for you all to start talking and hopefully some more pictures of it will surface. If they do I would like to build it exactly as Scot had it when he raced it. As far as it being the real deal- "YES" it is the real deal, just ask Scot. If you have pictures of this frame built close enough to see what the parts are then PLEASE help. As far as the decals go.. "Yes" I personally am the complete dumbass that peeled them both years ago, the day I got it I think. I remember thinking, "Why would somebody put these SE decals on a Foiler?" If not for Scot spotting the frame in my bike shop, I would have never even known what I had and it would have been de-anodized and polished years ago. Yes, Scot says a lot of things, but this frame is the real deal. Close match to that picture uploaded by Dennis? Yes, that is because it is the exact frame in that picture. Dennis can you PLEASE email me that hi Resolution picture, it won't let me save the file on this site. ChicagoPat..
