  1. Very nice I remember riding one of these Browning systems BITD. It was on I think a Shadow F&F from Hot Wheels in the UK. Absolutely fantastic and way ahead of its time. Mark Tardiff had a great set up too. Absolutely lovely looking DY
  2. Ooh vice and thin punch rings back horrible memories when we could not afford the tools BITD. If you can, get yourself the right tool and remember to have that split link facing backwards. :32:
  3. Thanks guys for all the responses. This will sort out my bent spindles and as they are used for riders then they will be fine. Andy as you know, or maybe not, I moved to Wellington this week so its been hectic. Will pop on a thread of the completed bikes when I have finished the builds. Yeah they have been for some outings but thats not how they will stay so best wait until complete. Patience mate!! DX are for all bikes when they get ridden. Blue, Red and Silver. Cheers guys for your confirmations Clint
  4. Well its 99% there and I started riding it so its getting fithy now and I thought best to post it as it is fun fun fun. I call this my MILDEW ride based on MId, oLD, nEW school components sourced from all over. I think it is a nice combination, well it works for me and it handles a dream. Cheers to all those that gave inspiration and helped in your own way. My appologies if too many pictures, its been a long time since I built a BMX. Try and stop me now! Thanks for providing so much fun again Greg, if you see this don't forget my 2pr bars that are outstanding, it still hurts the wallet. Clint :32:
  5. Now heres a question for those of you in the know. Do the Shimano SX spindles fit inside the DX bodies? Grab those spanners if you have both sets at home. I have only DX so can't do the test. Might solve my bent spindle problem. Cheers guys :32: Is one considered mad when they dream about being ripped off on a set of wrap around flights? The castleated area where the spindle goes was all chewed up but the seller (to remain annonymous) had put some sort of putty and false non attached castleated metal in its place. It all went solid for the show but fell appart when needed for the go. I think I have it bad!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Don't forget that the self centring mechanism on the front positions the formed alluminium washers through 90degrees for the front forks. So if you think you can use these formed washers for the rear then you are wrong. The self centre spindle part has two flats as does the formed washers. With a bit of inginuity it can be gotten over. OK anybody know what model the dia compe callipers were on the mini's and micromini's? were they 890's or even smaller than that? Cheers Clint :32:
  7. Hey Spike bought a couple of seats and just recently some rims. I am in NZ and they even bothered to look up my UK contact details (Mums are great) and ask what colour product I wanted. Now thats service. Emma (from Rudewheels) then read my mail and saw my colour option and confirmed with me by e-mail. Previous correspondence was a little hard, I think you have to use a specific mail address and not go through the bay. But once you are in contact all is good. I don't think you will have any troubles. Clint
  8. Jim Happy Birthday from the deep southern hemisphere. Thanks for all your genuine help over the past 18 months whilst I got back to my roots with JMC. Clint
  9. No worries. Glad they turned out OK
  10. Bottom Bracket Boots I think Sharp made them. Ditto they spin!
