this site has changed a few times. it's had owners and guises. no longer the haven for vintage exiles but a site of equal stature. not been around for a while, but that's due to a diminished interest in old bmx, it comes and goes. good knowledge and info to be had on here, what more do you want from it? a lot of us have been around for a while in this hobby and a lot of the guys on here have known each other for many a long year, it takes time and effort to become furniture.

been after a set for a while(about 6 years) and have given up, the forks that look the closest to me are ghp forks. anybody have any better suggestions? would love to get the right forks.
-
are the serial numbers to decipher on a trickstar or is it as random as the race frames? talking about a US made frameset.

Tange MX3 headset images anyone ??
J.T.racing replied to Mattdub's topic in Riding, Research & Collecting
but surely you have acquired such knowledge matt. funny what you find on google searches -
how would you feel if i re-popped hutch stuff too. license my arse. easily done. they are just fake parts which ever way cut it. Let's make it a free for all.
-
buying hutch to legitamise fakes. you dig it or you don't. it's happened and that's that.

J.T.racing replied to pjcruiser's topic in Riding, Research & Collecting
it looks amazing in the flesh and i've only seen the seat and a tyre, he's been at it a while but he's losing his job so it's going very quick at the moment. -

Poll : Ambrosio or Araya 7X or Pro Class
J.T.racing replied to Surf911S's topic in Riding, Research & Collecting
i'd put pro class on. nice looking rims and the tape colour can accent the bike. ambrosio rims are nice, but i wouldn't have durex written on my wheeels when i was a kid, i would have got bullied or had the piss taken out of me. -
all i know is that i need national pro forks. never seen any on their own though. a bit depressing.

i've said it before on another site after seeing pics. in short. this kind of sheet metal work is my trade. there is no excuse for that standard of workmanship on anything.if i did work like that, i would never hold down a job for more than 2 minutes. Doesn't look like the work of skilled tradesmen, that's for sure. Profile should issue a better statment, something along the lines of, that new temp guy we hired is now fired, we will make some proper cranlks if you send those bastardised things back, we are sorry. Profile has some sense of pride in it's product and we don't accept the wstandard of work we have done. if the original guy made these as they said, them maybe he was 64 back in the eighties and shouldn't really be doing this anymore.
