  1. Man,I was eyeballin' that cruiser. You scored that out of Cedar Rapids Iowa, huh?Good for you dude.I hope it turns out to be a nice find.
  2. I just picked up a NOS GT stem in annodized red that came in dull and crusty looking.I figured some polishing cream couldn't make it any worse.I just used Maas polishing creme and a wet cotton towel.Turned out great and didn't harm the finish.I think Semi-Chrome polish is the same thing. Both are pink cremes that come in a tooth paste tube thing.Just offering my experience.
  3. Zap pads {nylon and velcro with a lightning bolt silk screened on}were the first ones I remember seeing.....about '79?
  4. I've had really good success with WD-40 and #0000 steel wool on skyways.I bet if you do a topic search in this section you'll find all kinds of information.Cleaning mags comes up often.Good luck.
  5. Anyone have any luck getting these apart without trashing the bearings or cracking the bearing cups?Ok,here's the deal.Got this '95 GT recently.I've stripped it down and cleaned everything up pretty good except the bottom bracket. Its that GT Ultra-lite sealed BB for OPC.The bearing cups look plastic to me.I thought I could remove the lock nut and the threaded collar that inserts into the bearing and slip the bearings out...not happening so far.Anyone have any experience with this set up?
  6. Very cool Nemo.Congrats. ....does your wife know you had that lil kids bike on the coffe table?
  7. Get well soon Matt. We'll include you and your family in our prayers.
  8. Yep,CW nailed it.Its a Redline "Big Block" spider from the nineties.Local bike shop still has them in stock for like 8 bucks.
  9. Yeah,I heard that story too.Has that guy got the stash or what?Hope I run into ya some time....
  10. Dude,I just saw that cut up Trick Star at the local BMX shop about 2 weeks ago.....Bad Shot, are you our local track director?
  11. ....just noticed this started in FEBRUARY!...lol....hopefully you got it figured out.
  12. I use WD-40 and #0000 steel wool,or #000 for the more stubborn spots.I lightly spray the area I'm working on then apply as much pressure necessary to remove the grit and grime. After I'm done I spay more WD-40 on a clean cloth and wipe down the entire mag.Works pretty good.Do a search, there has been a lot of suggestions from guys that are far more knowledgable than me.
  13. Hey!...I'm from Davenport,Ia!....makes me ashamed to be from the same town, lol. And yes,Iowa does grow lots of melons,corn....crack,meth,burnouts.....you know, same as every where else.
  14. I'd like a NOS GT pro series and Robinson pro.I'd prefer the aluminum ones but chromes good too....just got a thing for those lately.
  15. Since no ones said any thing I'll take a stab at this.I'm sure BW pedals came out in 9/16 but I've never seen any in the last year on ebay or my local bike shops. If someones got them,I'm sure they'll want a premium for them. One of the local bike shops around here has a set of polished 1/2".They want $90.00 for them, lol.BW pedals came out after my time though,so my knowledge is limited...take it for what its worth.Good Luck!
