  1. did anyone notice when robbie kneivel jumped the fountains in Las Vegas he was wearing a pair. Not much hand protection for the jump that almost killed his dad
  2. ambrosio still make excellent rims for road bikes - superlight and strong. Durex was the term for their form of hard anodoising the rim. Ambrosio make road frames, brakes, and a whole bunch of generic tiawanese parts. I was sponsored by them 3 years ago and snapped all 3 frames i had from them. (ONLY FRAME I HAVE EVER SNAPPED) But their main claim to frame are their excellent rims
  3. yes silly money but they are so damn cool i had some b2b's bitd. I hated to see them deteriorate on a weekly basis
  4. wow, that 600a is so original. i had one straight off the shelf BITD. brakes were dia compe (black) grips? Can't remember - sorry! tyres panaracer knarler knobbies
  5. they also came as a tubular tyre 1 1/8th (sew on) great tyres
  6. I'm gobsacked Flanelcamel I have seen a lot of awesome bikes on various sites over the past few years. That takes some beating - the bar has been raised indeed!
  7. speechless! I think I had a mild Coronary looking at those pictures.
  8. remove most of the dry glue if you can. Use paint thinners! You dont have to get every last bit off - if the old glue is a little damp with the thiners it will mix well with the new glue. Don't take it to a LBS, just get some vittoria or continental tubular glue and do it yourself. You will feel very satisfied after. More importantly you will be secure in the knowledge that you covered all parts of the rim with glue. Go for it - I want to see the finished result. You can even do a little topic on "correct glueing"
  9. mini's are so exotic - especially profiles. Make sure you have a spare 72 hours to glue those "Tubulars" on correctly
  10. i had blue panaracer conquers on them (rear was short of tread) I can't remember anyone else making BMX tubulars BITD so are panaracer conquers rare now then?
  11. lol, thanks chaps! My surname is Ford. I have a friend in Birmingham (England) who has a very thick accent. Anyone from England knows what I'm talking about. Anyway for some bizarre reason he started calling me "Fordo" in this stupid accent and it has stuck ever since. Never had a nickname, so this was my feeble attempt at one! PS. I'm sure those Araya's were mine!
  12. Ok This is how you glue "tubulars" (I ride on a pro road team) Firstly take tubular (dry) and roll it onto the rim (dry) - put about 30 psi in and make sure the tubular sits evenly. Then add as much air as the tubular allows (will say on the side of tubular) Leave for 36 hrs. Remove tubular Add glue to rim (either continental or vittoria is the best) Rotate the wheel slowly and apply with a brush or directly from the tube of glue. then wet your finger, spreading the glue evenly as you spin the wheel. Leave to dry (8 hrs plus) Apply a thin layer of glue to tubular tyre (with a brush) again make sure it is as even as possible and be sure to cover the cotton area. Leave to dry (8 hrs plus) Then take tubular and roll it onto the rim - put about 30 psi in and make sure the tubular sits evenly. Then add as much air as the tubular allows (will say on the side of tubular) This two layer of "dry" glue then fuse together. Leave for 8 hours. You can then add the correct pressure to ride on. FINISHED UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES RIDE A TUBULAR THAT HAS NOT BEEN GLUED CORRECTLY. THEY ROLL OFF! I personally never use "tape" way too dangerous.
  13. wow - they are nice! Let's all think of other stuff he can make
