Here are some pics of my Mongoose, not sure if I call this a 1980 or 1981 since the sticker and serial number say different years. Grips are not stock and not sure about pedals, I don't remember replacing them them but maybe I wouldn't. This was my 1st real bike, got it for Christmas when I was 9 or 10. Had been sitting in my dad's shed for decades, but I recently got it back when he sold his house. Had to put new wheel bearings and headset bearings in it and 1 new tire, rides great now. My kids are 8 and 10, so they can ride it now.

My stock mongoose has February 1981 serial number but sticker on frame says it is a 1980, it came with yellow tuffwheel 1, I don't really understand why many have Tuffwheel and many seem to have the aluminum motomag, I guess you could get either? yet others seem to have had spoke wheels, all I knew in the 80's was the Tuffwheel, no internet
