It didnt when I got it but it must have with that cable hanging down. I asked him if it had pads and he said that it didnt. No rub from a cable guide either so I assume that he just forgot about what pads were on it.

I have had this up on Facebook and the museum and had told myself I would pump the brakes on sharing it but then today I read something Steve wrote about having a repository in the event that FB goes the way of Friendster/Myspace etc. and wanted to make sure it had a good home here. I bought this bike from the original owner. He told me that his stepfather bought it for him in Portland at (he thought) Bob's Bicycles when he was living in Estacada, OR. After speaking with Ben Joy he pointed out that Bob's didn't carry DG parts so that would suggest it came from The Bicycle Gallery. He said that his step-dad was trying to make some amends for poor behavior and bought him, "...the most expensive bike they had at around $360-$380." It has a serial number on the BB shell: 777# (leaving one digit off) He didn't recall adding that. The seller contacted me and said he had a Late 70s Mini-Ripper that he had put in his family's storage in the early 80s and not touched since. I told him for a nice painted Mini-Ripper I would probably pay around $750 for a factory painted blue frame, thinking he'd never have a nice 78-79 Baby Blue frame, right?? He said,"ITS FACTORY BLUE!!" LOL He never sent photos as he isn't a smart phone user. The first time I saw it was when he text me from downstairs at my building. It hit me in stages. OH it's a PK...OHFUCK its a RTT...OHGOODGRAVYITSANODIZED! I told him I was happy to give him everything in my pockets, $8 plus what I could pull out of the ATM on my two cards and he said DEAL! I didn't have the 750 waiting because he gave me an hours notice at 6pm he was headed over. I did give him two very nice 1967 Ford Econoline head Light Bezels too but that is another random aspect of the story. After all that, here is the dang bike:

WOW. Whats the story with this? Where'd you find it? Ya, looks all GT with Gary Turner lug behind the bb and dropouts. I found this one in a shed here in Oregon, just outside portland in Clackamas county along with another bike last year sometime. Had some JMC DY first gen handle bars on it and an early Phil hub laced to a 90s rim. Also had DX post in it. It was a good day! LOL. The woman who had it told me her ex would sit around and rebuild wheels and bikes all day long. Never caught his name but he knew quality it would seem. Wish I knew more about it.. The decal on the front is an old NRA foil decal. It seems to fit nicely so I leave it on there! -

BTW I would leave the lock. You MAY want to run in to 7-11 someday to play some Centipede right quick and need to lock it up. -

Nice comparison!! These two together make me wish I knew what this mystery frame was for sure. Been suggested its a transition between'em. It really seems to jump right in the middle of the two! -

IMO, The drop outs are the same. The brace behind the BB is the same. The Gusset is the same. If not a Limo, it still looks like a FreeAgent to me. -

Free Agent Limo -
I just pulled this one! Loos like perfect chrome Dirtbike under that red'n'black. Green Redneck with a silver cap and wedgie. FSA lock. By the comments above I would guess this one falls right around the 94 mark. Anyone tell me anything about that big bottom cup set up? That is new to me..
