#555614 shipping bikes - discussing the options

Posted by Brian Hays on 28 March 2019 - 08:39 PM

I've always used bikeflights because they were so cheap and DIDNT use UPS, so if they have jacked the prices and are now using UPS instead of Fedex, I'll stop using them. I have heard of shipbikes.com and have heard they are cheaper than bikeflights but have never tried them yet, so someone needs to buy a bike from me and I'll try it out :)

#555590 PK Ripper I picked up from original owner...

Posted by Brian Hays on 25 March 2019 - 03:52 PM

So I bought this bike from Steve and changed some stuff. As he stated, it had some issues with brakes, cranks and pedals. I tore it down, scrubbed the frame and fork with rubbing compound. polishing compound and wax and scrubbed all the parts.  I repacked the headset, bottom bracket and hubs and trued the rims. Put on a set of Race Inc bars, Ame bubble Font Tri's, Shotgun 2 seat, KKT Lightning pedals, DC MX1000 brake caliper, cable and Tech 3 lever,  and Takagi spider. True 80s Cheng Shin Comp 3s (big and little), Xcaliber seat clamp and SE pads. I reused the SE seat post, 44T chain ring. Tuf Neck stem, Takagi 175mm cranks, loosebal BB and Araya 7X rims.

#555551 What year span were the original Viscount Dyna seats offered?

Posted by Brian Hays on 19 March 2019 - 02:51 PM

Right. I know they came out in 82. My question is how long were they offered? Dont really care that they werent "stock" on any complete. Just wondering how long were they available (before all the repop shit). I've already done thorough searching on the google box and seen all the useless meaningless threads. Cant come up with jack shit. Thanks.

#555536 Pay attention kids. No need to replace the decals when you only need to clean...

Truly a killer bike. Nice job.

Changed the ugly red spokes to stainless. Added a front brake and changed the pads from Cal Lite to vinyl snap pads.
