  1. So anyway, started a random little page on that FB thingy all the kids are using these days for those of us who give a hoot about Schwinn's last gasp at USA-made BMX race bikes. Everybody's welcome of course https://www.facebook.com/groups/323836004631999/ (Mods please feel free to move this wherever, I looked but didn't see a groups/clubs area)
  2. I'm not one to build a bike I won't ride, so with my shallow pockets if I'm going to spend the duckets to finish a bike it's got to fit my 6'1" lard butt frame, so OS is limited to 24's and 26's for me- no more 18" TT's. Got a mid school 20 I'll ride when it's in one piece, but it's come apart more often than they are together. And of course the obligatory frames in the 'to-do' pile...
  3. And a better pic form the 1983 Schwinn Accessories catalog- http://i1145.photobucket.com/albums/o520/ChattiusMaximus/Mobile%20Uploads/8d3a1a97-4247-42c1-993b-7272a7fd33f7.jpg The "Competition" frames had the more traditional Predator stays/drops and were (I'm pretty sure) Giant built frames, but the 24" anyway had a 5" HT and shorter rear triangle than the normal Predator 24.
  4. Figured an update was in order as #2 is complete all but for a couple details.
  5. '95 Schiwnn ENF. #107 (of an estimated 1000). Lowest serial yet to turn up, only known survivor with the early black/blue decals and block ENF. font. First of the USA made BMX frames from the 'New Schwinn' and 1995 ABA bike of the year. so there, nya.
  6. And because it's compounding disease, a 1996.5 Pro Modified, the ENF's Darwinian descendant. Serial on this one is 156 units later, has the '97 Pro Mod's extruded upper seatstay bridge and '97 style decals but retains the '96 ENF's brake cable guides (welded on two sides not all four like the '97) and lacking the top tube gusset of the '97:
  7. Um, not to be snarky, but the topic header?
  8. Rough draft build of a rare bird- only seen one other out there. Obviously still a work in progress, headbadge and canti's on the way, custom livery in the works, but no one else will ne wearing MY dress to the prom ;)
