The man who arguably invented the action sports genre has passed. Bruce Brown pioneering film maker died yesterday, Dec 10th at age 80

Here's the scene that so many early BMXers define as the one that opened their eyes to BMX:

Holy cow... that is a bummer.

Like about 99% of people my age, On Any Sunday got ma going in both motorcycles and BMX. Some of the best memories of my life come from that time period.

Sad day...

That hurts.
I was sick today. Watched On Any Sunday. Such a beautiful film.

Then I watched The Endless Summer. So evocative. And the Sandal's theme is crushing.

Sad to hear this. I remember my dad taking me to go see On Any Sunday way back when. Beginning my interest in BMX.

What a legacy.  He probably had no idea about the impact of that footage when he was filming that day.  Thank you Bruce, and RIP.

Sad sad news. I've been laid up with a touch of bronchitis as of late. And more or less out of touch for most of the last week or so. I just saw this. Time to get out my copy and watch it again. :teary:
