I always wanted one of these (actually, I wanted an open face, but they seem to be so much rarer). I got this a while back, but was sitting here thinking I should share it. I picked up the goggles on Ebay. They're in dire need of a new lense, but I think I should be able to make one pretty easy. The foam on the frame is shot.

The helmet is in pretty good shape, and actually fits me! Though I look like a dork walking around the house in it. At least my wife and children say so. :)

The other thing that is hot is the custom AME GT goggle strap. Really neat, They also did Patterson, Powerlite, Ame, and others I am forgetting.

As well as like suspenders with the same strap.

Nice score!

Yes, A'me made cool stuff like those straps and suspenders. CW was another brand they did. Also maybe Torker?

Ironically, I have one of those straps I picked up a while back. Then I found the complete goggles and strap. It also looks like I may have squared up a trade deal, so I end up with some Aero GT leathers and a GT jersey as well, to match the helmet and goggles :)

Now, I just need some blue, yellow and white JT half breed gloves, and some blue and yellow Vans :)

Size is large, at least it must be, as I have a big head...

I got the original strap from you Kevin :) Now, post up some of your cool GT gear, being that you are the Santa Ana GT king! :)

Nice, Mike. Those goggles are a killer accent for the helmet.

Luckily, my GT leathers and helmet are among the few relics from the racing days that I do still have. Strangely satisfying to have that little piece of the past.

helmet or no helmet - still a dork!

Hee hee - couldn't resist that one.

As much as I like the Oakley stuff I do think the a'me face masks were cool too.

Very cool. I was just looking at some old BMXAs today and saw the GT ads for those.

I lost my Echo helmet somewhere between my move from New Mexico and SoCal. No clue whatsoever what I did with it. Every now and again I look for it, but it never turns up. Wasn't a cool one like that, though.

I always wanted a Torker Team Electro. I made one last year and it turned out okay, but it's too small for me. Now, I'm painting my old Bell RT in Torker colors. I had to replace all the foam, but it seems to fit okay. A Torker helmet shouldn't be a Bell, but it's all I have. Electros are too hard to find. Thought about doing it another color, but I just picked up some NOS Torker/Max leathers. Now all I need is a jersey and I can be a dork, too.

Sweet helmet.

Sadly, I threw out my old Kuwahara helmet, Oakley goggles, and JT mouth trap, about 12 months before I got into this nutty hobby :)

I did keep my old Kuwahara jersey, and my old GT t-shirt. Sadly, I have no idea where the Kuwahara leathers went :(

I used to have one of those GT baseball caps too, but I have no idea what happened to it :(

Me bitd, on my 82 GT 24 :) :

I hope to get some more GT softgoods, like a gear bag, helmet bag, and/or a flight bag. One day maybe..

Very cool helmet and goggles.

I'd think you could clear up whatever is wrong with your lenses with some plastic polish. We use a product called Novus at work to bring back worn plexi on frames. That stuff works wonders and can bring some really fogged up plastic back to clear with a little elbow grease. It's worth a try.

It would have to be some pretty magic polish, as the lense is broken right through in two places..

Thanks for the tip though :)

:Creepin: For anyone that might be interested...
I have an ECKO full-faced helmet, very similar to
Mike's blue ECHO helmet shown here-only real difference
that I can see, other than name spelling-is that the vents in
the nose of mine are closer together...but only slightly!

I think both ECHO/ECKO are the same company...I seem
to remember a lawsuit in the early 80's(?) that resulted in
the variance in spelling. Not sure though!

Anyway,I have no plans for this helmet and will let it go
to anyone that wants it...for $25 Priority Mail shipping-or less,
if shipping actually costs less!

It's an 'off white' with a full black interior-in excellent shape!
This helmet has 7 snap bases-5 above the face opening and 2
down near the ears. This allows use of any 3 or 5 snap visor,as
well as the old JT style that 'turns down' at the sides. The helmet
has 2 of these visors,a 'real' JT visor-in white-and a 'copy' made
by someone else-in black-as well as a 5 snap white Moto Peak!

It says it's a MEDIUM...but it's a 'small Medium'...I can't even
get it on my head-and I wear a MEDIUM in a Bell helmet! It's
also ONLY for BMX-NOT off road rated!

I'll be happy to send the helmet & all 3 visors to anyone that's
interested-again...for $25 shipping to the US! PM me if interested!
Would be a nice helmet for your kid's use-would need paint to be
be 'completely cool' though!

Nope wear it while on OS BMX, in case the computer crashes.
