the fsx was the low end haro freestyler in 87/88. the fsx was standard with skyway OE wheels and the fst came with 48's
tri-moly frame
group 1 stem
haro bars
acs 860 brake set
gyro
haro tires
dominator seat
cr-mo cranks

nice little bike with nice specs for the lower end.

Yep. Brian's got it mostly all there :)
I love the yellow and grey.

I could add that it came with :
- DiaCompe Tech 6 locking Levers
- Fake AME Tri Grips
- Various / Random styles of VP / Clover pedals (Some were plastic MKS style, Some alloy PDMX style, and more random designs)
- Haro Uni Directional Chainring / spider.
- Peregrine Seat clamp (w/ no decal)
- Haro Fork Standers - similar to the 85 Sport Master stationary standers.
- YST Headset

I Know.. what a clash of componentry.
All competing companies. :)

Not sure how they got hooked up with ACS, but in 89 is when they moved to Odyssey brakes (Pitbulls and 2001's ) for their Bashguard Master, and Odyssey 1999's for their low end bikes like the Invert. The FSX/T could have been the first inkling of Haro's transition away from DiaCompe.

Which is weird because the 91 Ground Master came with 990's and Nippons... just like the 87 Master / Sport.

Thanks for the input, I figured it was on the lower end of the HARO totem pole, picked her up at a great price: original owner, said he changed nothing on it including the tires:

Haro F/F stickered FSX
Haro Bars
Haro Group 1 neck
Dom seat
unmarked layback
Pergrine seat clamp w/sticker
unidrictional ring
Pergrine HP48
dia comp brakes

well those rims and tires were probably added on somewhere...... whether by the owner or the shop..... peregrines 48's didnt even come on the fst.... they came with cheapo 48s.... the sport and master have the peregrines.
as for the brake debate, it s definately possible it came with the 880's... by 87/88 alot of companies were changing specs to keep up with demand. if they had more bikes than a certain part, they tossed another part on to get it out there....

kinda like when you see the 86 sports factory painted and sold as 87 fst/fsx's

nice lookin ride

yeah, spec changes were fairly common for everybody at the time. while i can't speak for other stores, i can say that we would sometimes do things like wheel switches for various reasons (too many/not enough of something in stock...etc). or, to use the bike above as a general example... say a customer wants a white FST, but all i have is a white FSX - swap wheels.

My first real ride was a new '87 FSX, bought in april '87. It came with 880s, and a Peregrine clamp w/sticker. I still have the frame
