Use a Wald, the kind with the flat top race. You will need the thinnest parts possible for the top especially the upper race. A Schwinn will be too thick.

Got your PM Brett. I used two Wald head sets and made up one Matthews head set. Matthews used Wald components for their forks originally. I took one of the top threaded bearing cones and ground out the threads untill it fit over the 1" steer tube to make up the bottom cone. the rest is pretty strait forward.

Great save. Kind of nice that you have the original plastic pieces on the swingarm. That's pretty rare, especially to have both sides.

That orange one is nice too! Love the Araya 105 rims and the Carlisle.

Hey guys! I FINALLY got a set of nice girder forks for my Matthews. I have done a search, but havent been able to find it; I believe Michael (Monster-Robot, or Sod) posted up a scan of the O.G. Directions/parts sheet. Would it be possible to post that up again? Or lead my lazy butt to it? Thanks in advance.

...Well, Its almost like the headtube w/bearing cups are too long (cant get for over upper/lwr bearing races), plus I already misplaced the aluminum spacers(doh), but I cant see how they would fit at this point? I'll check them to the new frame set Im getting to compare?
